<div class="IPBDescription">Can't play NS 3 over LAN?!</div> just dl ns v3.0 beta client 1 and i can't use it to play LAN!!! <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo--> it only installs it to steam and I don't have steam (or want steam). Can someone tell me how to use this w/o steam?!? Thanks

drag and drop your "nsp" folder from steam into your other client and voila.

At that point you might as well use Steam.

Steam runs on a lan fine. Just disconnect from the 'net and start steam up. It will say "Ohnoes! No Intarweb!!!" and start up in offline mode.

I wouldnt go so far as saying its perfectly fine, but yea, make sure steam itself is working before you blame ns.
