Well, since I've known PS for 3+ years, I thought I'd give skinning a try. Now to the problem: I dont know how to see how the skin looks on the model!

I know that Im suposed to take a mesh that someone has created and make the skin on it, but i dont know how it will look on the model.

Can i see how the skin looks on in ms3d?

for a .ms3d file, you'll need milkshape (free 30 day trial), or lithunwrap (free program used most popularly for skinmeshing/UV mapping)

    for milkshape:
open the file, right click on the 3D view (bottom right by default). uncheck "wireframe overlay", and check textured.

THEN, go over on the right nav menu, and hit "materials" you should have a material already there, you need to hit the large button near-ish towards the bottom (there are two of them) see my ascii art:
    --------------- ---------
    | hit me | | None |
    --------------- --------

    in Lith:
load the model, ms3d, or .3ds... "expand" the materials selection. double click on the material name, this pops up a new dialog.
second drop-down box from the bottom, will say bitmap, hit the properties, bringing up another dialog.
if you've saved OVER the original UV, hit reload, if not, hit change...
once that's done with, close all the pop-up dialog boxes, and go up to the program menu, hit preview, and then show model.
