<div class="IPBDescription">Cuz the day it comes out..hell ...</div>i was wondering and the NS dev team alreadyd considered this but i'm wonder how the NS files will be distributed?

I mean once it comes out..all hell breaks loose..thousands and countless thousands of eager NS-starved HL players clicking on the download(s) link. AI carumba~

Will the files be distributed Fileplanet only? Or will you guys handle it? and have many MANY mirror sites?

*sorrie if it sounds n00bish..i'm just curiouso*

    there will be tons and tons of mirror sites. Don't worry, they aren't n00bs, they know what they are doing. :)

    If you think about it.... the distribution "plan" will be similar to that of CS or DoD... a mass of mirrors to host the files. You're either one of the first to a mirror getting that file, or you wait a day, and most of them are down, or full <!--emo&:p--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'><!--endemo--> Everything will be okay.. you'll see

    The number's around 20 mirrors contacted and lined up.  More will probably hop on later in the day/week.  You'll be able to grab it, and you'll be able to grab it quickly.

    Froggy probably has one of the paying ones, so he would have a reason to hug it.     I would say NO.  I decided to pay for a fileplanet account, just for a year to see how much I liked it, and after my test i have to say that it is not worth it.  I can almost always get the download just as fast from another sorce, for some reason fileplanet is always on the slow side for me...

    gollus, thats because FP makes you think personal servers are better, but i bet the iP address is the same on all/most of them.

    I had access to a FilePlanet personal server for about a month (back when I did a map for Desert Crisis some rabid fanboy shared his account with me for some reason) and I can say that the personal servers are just a bunch of false advertising. Yes they are different servers, but NO they are NOT any faster. What's worse is there are tons of times you still have to wait in a line 300 people long to download something. That 0 waiting stuff is just a bunch of BS lies.

    I get 250 kb/s off fileplanet and I've only probably had to wait in line 1 time ever, and that was not for very long either.  Oh and that's off the PUBLIC servers.  FilePlanet is extremely good for me.

    I'm not going to let this topic turn into yet another FilePlanet bash/rant.  The topic has served it's purpose.  There will be mirrors, and only 1 of them will be FilePlanet.  If you don't like FilePlanet, download somewhere else.
