<div class="IPBDescription">why do i even try sometimes lol</div> I was playing tonight like always (I always play everynight) but after nights like these I feel depressed (and write in my LJ lol). so what I'm trying to say is that no matter how much I play I cant' seem to get like the best of the best NS players that are on high big clans and pub everywhere. I have researched (i even read art of sun tzu) and I upgraded my presario to 40 mb ram and still even with the extra FPS I still can't get good ratio kill like some people.
I mean here it is liek this: I was playing on ns_ayumi with my best friends we go play together and it's a lot of fun (because we're friends) but soemtiems I don't like my friends they make a lot of fun of my accent <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo--> but anyway... and then there was a really good guy anyone else see this good guy? No it's not zero (sun tzu reincarnated) so don't worry if you are squimish about big battles and lots of blood zero was not in this one (unless he snuck in under the radar) but I don't think he did. Anyway I don't know who this guy was but he was like the master. his name was Broken Clock and he was like 50 years old (he made fun of everyones voices "i am best at talking on mic but you guys have teenage voice hahaha" is what he said I think) and it was like woah, becasue that is an interweb name u can be proud of (he must be general of united states army (not proven yet) ). As soons as I saw him on team I know we were in for a win because he was shooting aliens left and right and there was so much green blood I thought I was playing doom 3 in germany. so his ratio ended up like 9 kills 1 death then he used SEKRET tactic I think to get these kills. No not cheats lol it was something I never saw before. but anyway that totally maxed his kill ratio to the max!!! but I think after he saw that the game was hopeless he did something so stupid
he did mutiny and ejected comm and jumped in side of the commander chair and then recycled everything (greenpeace would be proud). so he almost got banned but he used strongarm tacktics from HIGH KILL RATIO to make the admin look the other way
yuo may be wondering what the hell I'm tlaking about but it's that I can play for liek since past beta and read the art of sun tzu and try out for elite clans and I still can't play like Broken Clock teh mastar. if anyone has ever seen broken clock play u will know what I'm talking about I bet he is cal-Xtreme. neone else have run ins wiht great plaers like this and then feel less than ok about their own skill? oh man i dereailed topic, but i am just sayin ghtat broken clcok is the best ns player in the world and he nevar loses because in the end he is the recycle machine too because he does not liek littar and marines just throw littar everywhere but he cleans it up ok guys so when you see broeken clock maybe you should think twice because man oh man he is killing machine!
I dont think that passion is appropriate for high school children they need to learn about violence at places like their moms house and not at the movies because movies are bad and rated r especially passion.
ne one else meet any killing/recycling machiens like broken clock while playign on real life NS servers online? (not against bots) I know that someone else has had experiences like me where you are alwyays losing against killing machine.
Second, the only thing you can really do is practice. Obviously this guy has a lot under his belt, so I suggest you do the same.
If you want "UBAR L33T TACT1C SK1LLZ" for being a Commander, I'd suggest downloading some bots and practicing. Bots won't yell at you like most people on public servers.
I belive myself to be a good player, normaly k:d ratio never goes below 3:1, thats mainly because even in the begining (TFC) I was never crap.
If you really want to be good then try practicing alot but just remember that not everyone can get to the point where they are good enough to get into the top clans

There are loads of tactics mentioned in the strategy forums, so I won't go into those here. Learn to aim, go in groups, follow waypoints. You cant go far wrong.

But seriously now it does get depressign when you see players like Broken Clock who break all the rules and pull out all the stops and julliane the other team into tomato paste, like the iron chef on tv or something. Because you waondar who the hell are they to get teh win like that?
It's complex like a curry sauce I tried to ask him how he got good and then he was like "you have teenage voice hahaha" (but he did not make fun of accent like my real friends lol) and then when he was about to get the ban hammer from recycling the team he said" why is it good players allways get picked on!?" and admin started cryign over the mic. I certainly think that his K:D alotted him so much power he was able to move admin and I think afterwards admin learned what life was about?
Also to non cultured person who doesn't know anything about green blood: it's true in germany there is lot of green blood because government makes it so that they have to have green blood and not red blood so the school children who play games with lots of blood don't kill real people in real life I used to live in germany that is where accent comes from! for real

that is anotehr tough game but even in germany there is no green blood I think it was so old it got around green blood rule through loophole in governmental cloth? but I guess you are right some peopel have natural talent maybe I take up singing like will hong because it seems anyoen can sing and not need talent!

also someone along the way derail topic so this thread is a huge mounting train wreck I am sorry all I wanted to posty my "sentiments" about how a guy like Broken Clock can totally kill everyone and I could not even shot hive once or anything! I think it boil down to guys who want to be internet tough guys and guys who want to help by explaining situation.
Try different things. Both Sides/different options. Pay attention to what goes on, don't just "play". Alot of times I see myself getting into a cycle of the same thing over and over. If you do that you won't get any better, try different tactics, different playstyles. You'll become overall better if you can adapt to certain situations at a moments notice.
Try playing some Combat only servers for a week. This will up your killing skill dramatically. NS has fighting, but its nowhere near as constant as Combat. Combat is a great tool to just purely work on your aim with marines, and killing abilities with Alien. It will go a long way.(Hey try my server in my sig, lol <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->).
NS is really all about working together, most likely that High Kill/Death ratio guy is just simply baiting people. He'll let 4 teammates run ahead and kill a few wounded aliens after his teammates die <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Some people like myself played counter-strike for a long time before NS, so playing marine in NS is a bit easier because of the reflex skill associated with playing counter-strike so well. On both teams though you need to learn the value of positioning. Running down long halls vs marines not good. Hiding at corners/spots you can't see a skulk coming is not good. Don't get suprised, prepare, know the map, and sit in spots/walk through areas easily defended if attacked.

seriously I think maybe he had secret tactic which was much like tactic you said and he make fun of people who die to him since he is so good. maybe someday after I practice a lot I will be like broken clock.
But I think u are right taht some peopel have natural talent because there are asians in my computar-science class (advanced typing) and today I was sitting in back because I come in late but I was behind group of asians (which is funny because almost whole class is asian!) and then I was paying attention learning SPANNING TREES and qwerty board layout and suddenly asian guy pulls out laptop and he has sexy asian kpop star on desktop and then he boots up noneother than STARCRAFT. I was like OMG!!! so then he got on bnet (after trying to hax someones password or maybe he forgot account lol) and started playing on a laptop in the middle of class!!! it was nuts and he won three games with only a touchpad and a laptop... on hsi lap. I was totally blown away but there is a test tuesday and I think it will be his fault if I do poorly since I was trying to learn new asian strategy from him while he play.
but anyway I am not good at starcraft or warcraft 3 either (or not good english major like ASHAMAN JOE or no where near zero level at NS) but I do try to practice, and I practice NS a lot too. I guess natural skill is weird because some people have it and some people don't maybe that is difference between all us on earth and soon we'll get world peace. but anyway thanks arete from not being an eThug and destroying my thread for serious discussion.
