I don't think we had a topic on it
I don't think we had a topic about it - I did a search and nothing come up so here we go.

Has anyone else on here seen The Passion of the Christ, I can't have been the only one?

I'd like to know what everyone else's views are because to be honest the film scared the living Hell out of me.

I'm very familiar with the Gospels and so wasn't really expecting much to surprise me but this film did, it must have been the visions of those nuns that he used or something because wow. The old weird demon thingy and the, what I assume to be, Devil making an appearance really took the film to a whole new level.

I found the flogging seen to be worse than the Crucifixion, and I never expected humour to be put into the film (even if it was only a brief segment) but before I go further I would like to hear from others who have seen it.

As far as I can tell, it's simply a graphic representation of the final hours leading up to and after Jesus' death according to the Bible.

It's an extremely well put-together film, the cinematography and acting are excellent, and, well... boy is it gory. I'm as hardened to violence and blood as the next person (and I mean including guys), but this film actually managed to make me turn away from the screen because I felt sick.

That said; to me this film accomplishes nothing, other than to show a very well made film. It's funny because I was standing in line with my friends, and I don't dress particularly "normal"... and the rest of the line looked to be older white folk, this area being mostly, well.. older white Christian/Catholic Republican folk. I got a lot of stares. :X

Hasn't changed any of my beliefs, or my opinion on the religion in general, or anything like that. If anything, it was to me a waste of my time and money because I got nothing out of it, and I'd rather have spent them on something else. That said, it was my decision, so it's my own damn fault.
