Money isn't much of an issue, I'll spend maybe $300 USD if it'll last me a good 2.5 years at least. I've owned a Radeon 32MB in the past, and had so many trouble with it that I wanted to shoot it. It took ATi 6 months to release drivers for it to allow me to play video games, even then, it wasn't that great. I've heard that ATi still has the same problems with it's drivers but it has gotten a lot better than it used to be.
I currently own an NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200, and it plays games fairly well. I can have good detail settings and resolutions and play some rather intense games at around 30 FPS (Halo, the Soldner demo and it runs CoD oh so smoothly.) I haven't had many troubles with it, and the ones I did have, an updated graphics driver fixed it. I've heard that ATis are better than NVIDIA but by how much? And is it enough to warrant an extra $50-$100 USD for them or should I get an NVIDIA?
(im gonna wait until this fall when card prices hit the bottom cuz new cards and pci express comes out <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->
