Are There Any Cost Lists For Commanders?

Hi, I wanna try comming and I've been looking around for a chart that displays resource costs for weapons and upgrades and whatnot.... but to my disbelief I can't find any! not on the official site, not on any of the sites under the "communities" link.... anyone know of such a chart at all? I'd rather not have to figure out costs of items on my first comming experience, while my marines are wondering what the heck i'm doing.

In Console:
sv_cheats 1
bigdig (autobuild and fast build/research)
givepoints (spam this a few times, or just bind a key and mash it)
get in the CC and learn.
What Tansal told is indeed a good way to find out how commanding works. Just create your own little server with cheats on, really not that difficult to do. You might even add some alien or rine bots.
But here is some info you might find usefull:
- You can find the Marine Tech Tree, updated and revamped for 3.0 b3 made by A Boojum Snark <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=68351&hl=list' target='_blank'>here</a>
- And the manual <a href='http://www.natural-selection.org/manual_version_2/Natural_Selection_Manual_Framed.html' target='_blank'>here</a> (with also the costs mentioned. Somehow the manual seems to be put in a dark and lonely place of the NS website, they really should make it easier to find.).
Hope this helps...

/me relocates 80% of the time.
Anyway, You've listed Cats as 4 res, but missed meds and ammo; 2 res each. No prequsites.
Oh wait. You didn't make it. Still, n1 for posting it.
Although I did come up with a new problem. When setting waypoints, I notice that I can ask specifically give marines, a Guard Waypoint order, a Build at Waypoint order, a Repair at Waypoint order, etc etc..... but it only seems to happen once in a rare while, when I set the waypoints on structures. Most of the time it just tells the marines to go to that spot, without any more specifics. Is there a more sure way of picking between these waypoint messages?
Well first of all <span style='color:red'><a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?act=Search&f=17' target='_blank'>search is your friend</a></span>. I searched with the word 'waypoint' to come up with <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?act=Search&CODE=show&searchid=44bf15297a6c38b263566a8ed7cca4cf&search_in=titles&result_type=topics&highlite=waypoint' target='_blank'>these</a> answers (I more of less knew myself, but not on the top of my head):
<span style='color:orange'>- Move to your waypoint</span>
This is lets say the 'basic' waypoint
<span style='color:orange'>- Guard structure</span>
You can activate it by selecting (a) person(s) and then by clicking on a building (rather difficult to do but it works sometimes)
<span style='color:orange'>- Weld target at waypoint</span>
By clicking on a welding spot (this works rather well but you have to be precise, or try a second and sometimes third time... but it works rather well).
<span style='color:orange'>- Enemy is nearby</span>
You just click on an alien and the waypoint will stick with it <i>(so when he moves the waypoint moves. But when he gets cloaked the waypoint stays at the last point where he was vissible. However if you do a scan immediatly after he got cloaked the waypoint will lock its target again!)</i>. It is however near impossible to pull it off, but when you practice on it you will get better at it and it can be rather usefull when some alien is egging somewhere !!!
<span style='color:orange'>- Pick up equipment at waypoint</span>
This one I personally never achieved to have, but I never really tried it too (and according to me this one is not that usefull).
In other words there is (99% sure, you never know) <span style='color:red'><u><b>no possibilty</b></u></span> (I don't know if it's technically possible) to press for instance a key while giving a waypoint that says <span style='color:orange'>Guard structure</span> or <span style='color:orange'>Weld target at waypoint</span> or <span style='color:orange'>Enemy is nearby</span> or <span style='color:orange'>Pick up equipment at waypoint</span>. The reason why that is not possible might be that it could use to abuse by an annoying commander.
<u>Now what makes it sometimes difficult to achieve the different waypoints?</u>
The zones on the objects that trigger the waypoints are small (they were reduced compared to what they were before) to practally the size of a pixel - which is very small and therefore difficult to achieve.
<u>Some other usefull information might be 'how to make squads'</u>:
It's easy (if you didn't already know); you first push your 'duck/crouch' key followed by the number 1,2,3,4 or 5 you wish to give to your squad. So basically you can make for instance two squads and make them do different things (assuming they cooperate), like building waypointed buildings <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> , ...
You can also put a building in a squad. I for instance make the observatory allways 'squad 5', for me the observatory is elite because it comes in handy when you want to scan or scan-siege areas. I often have a second observatory that I bind to 'squad 4' because when the observatory 'squad 5' is for instance upgrading the motion tracking I allways can use beacon to 'save' my base.
Hope this all helped, but remember... <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?act=Search&f=17' target='_blank'>search is your friend</a> and so am I <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->.

P.S. <span style='color:orange'>Repair at waypoint</span>? <!--emo&::asrifle::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/asrifle.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='asrifle.gif' /><!--endemo--> <span style='font-size:8pt;line-height:100%'>are you sure ?</span>
