It isnt affected by lights and it cant be used on models. its jus an extra transparent texture layer but you can get som nice graphical improvements if you use it right.

    right. and not models included in maps.. just the textures on the brushes

    yes only for maps and on them very limitated so u often have the same kinda "fake" bump on different structures and peopla must have the right textures and the detail texture mode enabled that y it hasnt been used much because its very much work for a mapper and most of the people wont notice it because of th e lack of settings in theire game

    could be fixed by having it turned on as default in the next mod patch. however, if your loosing a low-end computer the looses in fps will be grater then the graphic win.

    actually, some people have noted FPS <b>GAIN</b> with the use of dteailed textures
