How Marines Should Look

Hello

maybe this has been suggested before but...

I was playing sven coop and i found this server that had this really cool models, one was a barney, with the helmet of a marine but, with the laser sight, i think it looks awesome and should be put in ns... but thats just me...

    A slight problem there, chief. Those lasers may look cool, but they paint big red "EAT ME!!!!!" signs on the marines. Not a good thing when you are trying to ninja.

    a turn on turn off button would solve it, just like in the specialists, you can turn on and off the laser sights...

    You know how annoying it would be if you knew aliens could see where you are looking and see you before you see them? Not to mention how annoying the popping issues would be with C-D(the model isn't shown until the hitable player is visible so out of nowhere this laser beam would just pop into existance...).

    I would have suggested that you ask someone to do this a custom model but this would be a spiked model and very much cheating so I rather you didn't.

    well yeah but lets say you see a skulk, and a teamate is with you and you want to let him know where the thing is, maybe you can turn on the lasersight...

    i would replace that model with the one of a marine, but it has the body of a security guard...


    alright lets just stick with teh good ol marine model....sheesh....

    tho i would like to replace the models in my ns with those...

    This was either a server variable thing of a plug-in back in 1.0x I believe, and it was a pain, as you had to keep aimed at walls so skulks didn't know you were coming.

    hehehe I replaced the model with the soldier one, looks cool...

    is there a way so i can put that helmet on a normal marine body???

    Using a long laser sight on player models is a blatent and serious cheat up there with wallhacks so don't try, just don't.

    communication is not an issue, you have "enemy spotted", the chat system and the voice system. you dont need a laser pointer.

    I admin the server that has those models..     How about we get marine flashlight worken, it dose the same thing as lazer but helps you see, it has pro and cons, not just cons.

    ah well, what can i use to edit the models? milkshape???
    and that model worked fine in all servers, but the animation is cheesy cause its for sven coop...

    Good idea, but as you said, they have to add on\off command to it AND,i think that laser sight will allow you to detect cloacked units once it hits them and that laser sight is not available at the start so you can upgrade it in the observatory(or something there...)
