eek! i'm loving the progress so far. i think that the simplistic cartoonish-ness of mario makes this a pretty easy project. and like akira said, this is so l337 it makes me vomit with joy.
and was thinking for the lerk... instead of having 2 koopas, why not have those lil white ghosts with the scawwwwy teeth as the lerks??

ah, more brainstorming. i was thinking - in the games when mario gets the racoon tail, he's made big also. so that would make him the same size as the supposed HA model (according to the games). so why not make the LA look like the "big" version of mario in the games, and for the HA model....... About bob-ombs: yes they do have eyes in game, but this is just using 3dsmax colors, not any texture, and I thought that modelling 2d eyes in would be a bit excessive.

anyways, i dont have a host right now=(, so i cant send in the ms3d file of it. But ill sign up for geocities later. I've compiled the model, now all i have to do is test it in game. oh my goodness, my STARMAN catalyst model is huge. Is catalyst by default that huge, cuz i never seen it in an actual game. I might have to scale it down =(
on the fade - yoshi (as far as i know and can remember) has always been one of "the good guys". so instead of making him the fade, why not use the Rex creature (he was in super mario world 1). this is the only decent pic i could find, but if you've played the game, you'll probably be able to recognize him: <a href='http://www.nintendoland.com/graphics/items/smw/REX.GIF' target='_blank'>click!</a>
*EDIT* LOL!! zwing, that looks amazing!! it DEFINITELY needs to be scaled down a bit, but it looks great
actually, i don't know if i could think of a reason why this would cause a problem - it's simply a pick-up item. now if it were a building, then the hitboxes would be way off, blah blah blah, etc. but for this it may be fine, though i don't know enough to say that for certain...
