New Virus Laden Spam

Failed delivery notifications
My mailbox has been filling up with failed delivery notifcations. Now I think, yikes!, I'm got a trojan that's sending out virii that're getting bounced. So I do a scan, twice, and I'm squeaky clean. I'm also suspicious that the failed notification messages contain the viral attachments - I would expect that if a mail server detects virii in messages and bounces them - it wouldn't include the attachment.

So, is this a new breed of nasty, or is my PC full of trojan ?

    standard email spoofer

    some one got infected
had you email in their list
the virus now randomly matches up emails, ussing one as a spoof.

most mailer daemons just look at the 'from' section (not the 'actualy from section) of the header, so you get all of the bounces.

if you've used a few of the popular virus/trojan/etc scanners and you're still not sure if you're clean, you can always load up ethereal and check your incoming/outgoing for suspicious activity
