Usually a point about a map is put in the mapping forum. This definately belongs under the Off-Topic Joke section Nah, glad to see you have learned how to map! Took me a long time to learn, but I'm seeing I don't have the time for it Can't wait to see some work from you

agreed, creating a map as a beginner is hard enough as a beginner. I've been trying to do a little, and creating a NS map at this point seems unimaginable.

Creating an NS map for anyone is hard. NS is doing something no mod has ever done before (infact, I don't know of any games that have done it...). Anyone who can succesfully make a map for NS and correctly incorporate the CM deserves congrats!

I dont really care if its hard or not, I try my best.. the outcome usually surprises me pretty much.. from looking at two of your own rooms compared to bast is just.. sigh.. well.. I have been giving up about 5 times .. but then again, I try to go for playability at first, then take looks.. ok, I can never get is as good as relic or any of the other very talented guys, but a question to ex. 3D_Mike now and then, a little complaining here and the final result is acctually often good enough for some ppl to like what uve done, so keep trying.. thats what Ill do

Well I am artistic with it.. but I can't make textures, glass, water, teleporter, game end, detailed things (Not block like). I can just be creative with blocks and stuff... and ammo and guns... but those are in other mods..

the thing with mapping is not how to make the map (imo). The hard part is the texturing, and making not all hallways look the same.

I say the most difficult part of level design is to force the player to see the map the way you envisioned, to try and predict gameplay without ever playtesting... Then the real reward comes when you playtest the map and your predictions are correct. Then you have to wonder -- is the prediction correct because you understand the players? or are the players patterns being manipulated by your design itself...?

that's deep KungFu, and i guess the way players play your map is always influenced by the design of a map

I can't texture my maps for ####. I really love making maps but texturing is like cleaning up your toys after u have played with them. if i make a map which has a good design is there anyone out there who would texture it?

I feel that way too sometimes.
I don't know if it's best to build first and texturize later or make textured groups and put them together or to just map and texturize at the same time... Try these. Maybe you'll find it easier somehow, i don't know...
