btw, CUZ I FELT LIKE MAKING IT that...
As for the concept, eh.. detail? Are you even trying or are you just wanting to finish concept after concept. If you put more than 10 minutes into something, changes are that you'll end up with something nicer.
Save it as GIF or PNG! JPG is very bad for graphics because of the evil compression <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->

It looks worse when you save it as GIF in MS Paint, and i don't know if you even can save as PNG in MS Paint.
i know
my self i got 10 mb...
but i know a few ppl on 52kb/S complaining all the time on not long loads cuz its not a jpg pic and so on
Updated pic again.. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
the true question here is why not the blinding pink? <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Mainly you tell the person whats bad and whats good about the model, perhaps in a nice way too?
And ask him to make a new concept instead of modifying this one into something YOU guys want...
And stop the god damn "why the blinding pink?".
Thats just being an idiot, you ask polite, "May i give you an advice about the background, you might want to change it into a less brighter colour, that would be easier to look at."
is that so hard?
Alright, advice for the concept artist.
Try and make the body a bit less high the next time, because a weapon is alot better when its long and slinky instead of high and bulky.
The warhammer 40k weaponry are stupid! <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
And try to include those simple details (any other detail can be added to make the weapon look a bit more advanced, but IMO, all those "cool details" can be hid behind metal plates, like on ur concept.
Details:
Safety thingy
Magazine release of some kind
Shell Ejection port (Ususally on the right side of the weapon.)
Then there is about 100 other details that could be added, IE: slide release, slide-lock, barrelvents, heatshield, etc.
And probably one of the most important rules, try imagine holding the weapon, would it be comfortable? Is it ergonomic enough? Would it be easy to wield? Not to heavy in the front? or the back, or too heavy at all, or too long, or too breakable?
(That last one is easily fixed with titanium weaponry <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->)
Edit: Take a look at this simple weapon, and you see some basic detailing.
And some advanced, but the magazine release and the safety thingy is the two probably most important things <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Edit: Added a smaller image
*remembers ww2 disaster*

Reason for that is that dust and other things can get between the rounds, increasing the possibility of jams and stuff.

bah i knew i made a mistake in there somewhere <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Actually....if you save it as a JPG in Photoshop, at maximum quality, with 5 passes, you can get it 99% distortion-free, and still have it be signifigantly smaller than it's BMP counterpart....
I know, but it's still very big for a JPG that you put on the web. Also PNG is the best format for these things... but it lacks of support, so GIF should be your choice for graphics <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
::shrug:: ya' never had a problem scoping one of mine...have ya'? <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Not very likely that you get jam in your weapon during a combat that is beeing fought more then 1 feet away from the breakfasttable.... ok bad joke
Nope... I got DSL, but there are still some 56kers here I think <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->
