Assigning Vertexes = Pain

<div class="IPBDescription">Problem (already assigned!?)</div> HI there!

I'm currently working on the new MC JP model.

<img src='http://mitglied.lycos.de/estaran/pics/ns/mc1.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
<img src='http://mitglied.lycos.de/estaran/pics/ns/mc2.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
<img src='http://mitglied.lycos.de/estaran/pics/ns/mc3.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
<img src='http://mitglied.lycos.de/estaran/pics/ns/mc4.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />

First I need to say, this is the 1st time I'm assigning vertexes... So... <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I got a problem here. I've got some vertexes unassigned.

<img src='http://mitglied.lycos.de/estaran/pics/ns/mc5.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />

Now I assigned the ones on the right hand to "Bip01 R Finger0" and "Bip01 R Finger1".
The ones on the left hand to "Bip01 L Finger0" and "Bip01 L Finger1"
Left foot to "Bip01 L Foot" and right foot to "Bip01 R Foot".

So far so good. Now that I got all vertexes assigned, I get an error while compiling the model and I don't know what this means. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

<!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->illegal parent bone replacement in model "jetpack"
"Bip01 L Foot" has "Bip01 L Leg1", previously was "Bip01 L Calf"
illegal parent bone replacement in model "jetpack"
"Bip01 R Foot" has "Bip01 R Leg1", previously was "Bip01 R Calf"
illegal parent bone replacement in model "jetpack"
"Bip01 L Hand" has "Bip01 L Arm2", previously was "Bip01 L Forearm"
illegal parent bone replacement in model "jetpack"
"Bip01 R Hand" has "Bip01 R Arm2", previously was "Bip01 R Forearm"<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

I'm sure someone knows how to fix this... Sorry for my n00bie-nes, but I'm still learning <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    um, maaybe if, are you using ms3d? cuz if so i had problems (with v1.7) that when you import an smd or something it asks you to rename bones... uncheck that box when importing, if thats not your problem i dunno what is...

    [Edit] to tell you that you dont need to reasign all the vertexes... just asign the jp to one of the spine bones, then import some animations and see if it looks right...

    rename bones? mhm... that could be the problem... I'll check it <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    /edit: I unchecked the box, but there are still those 4 areas NOT assigned, yet. And when I assign them to the skelleton, I get the same error <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    For the animation: Works fine, just the "unassigned" vertexes are missplaced (are at the same pos all the time, but that's "okay")

    uh... I messed around with it a bit... and it worked... don't ask me how, but I think it was something with the rename bones thingy. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    That error means the bones were renamed........ generally you go through the SMDs and just check the bone names.

    In this case you would have had to go through all the various foot bips to make sure they were correct.
