Whoa, were you actually able to determine the installation folder? How? For me it just starts installing to C: without asking(which is more than annoying).

Uhm...the T2 installer asks you, it just uses the C drive for temp install files..

T1, however...I think that just goes to C:\

You might need to use a different email address, then. I know Yahoo mail works perfectly fine for it (I had to use an account to get someone else a key) Might wanna try just making a new fileplanet account.

I'm having fun with T1 and T2, but I'm oh so very lost. I just stick to base repairing, it's about all I know how to do D:

    I can't get Tribes 1 working.

This is almost not worth all this trouble.

Yeah, I can't get the key so I can't get the T2 working either. I even tried to obtain one via...well...less honorable ways(it shouldn't matter since the game is free anyway) but no luck. Well, I guess Tribes 1 one Tribes 2 training is fun too :/

Ok...I SERIOUSLY cannot get this bloody awesome program to work. I've played it before and I loved it, but that was on my old computer, which has gone to a better place. May he live forever in our hearts. I'm REALLY frustrated now.

EDIT: Relaized the futility of being angry. I'm on Windows 2000, Nvidia FX5200 with drivers updated three weeks ago, no sound card, save onboard, and an AMD processor. I HAVE installed the AGP patch for AMD processors. If anyone can help, I'd greatly appreciate.

Something else I should mention, make sure you're using IE. The whole CD key thing HATES alternate browsers.

Tribes 2 is like, 9 Bucks in bargain bins, and worth every penny. Pick it up if you can't get this game to work.

I'm a LOffense, Capper/Chaser myself, as soon as you guys get it working, if it's possible to play on servers with retail people, let me know and I'll show you the ropes.

How I love Fileplanet .... you wait for 2 hours in a line, then it downloads with 10 Kb a second <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif' /><!--endemo--> Luckily, I only have to download and try Tribes 1 since I already own Tribes 2.

    1) Use IE
    2) Go to <a href='http://www.fileplanet.com/promotions/tribes2_cgw/' target='_blank'>http://www.fileplanet.com/promotions/tribes2_cgw/</a>
    3) Fill out your details EXACTLY like your gamespy ID profile (check to make sure)
    4) If you get a "email need validating" message, follow the link, click the link that appears on the nex page, wait for the email to arrive. Click the link in the email
    5) Log Out
    6) Log back in again
    7) Go back to the CD key page
    8) Fill out details as in step 3
    9) If all has gone well, you should now be at a page where you need to enter the characters that appear on an image. Be prepared to be entering them a WHOLE lot. I hate to do it about 15 times before it decided that I was indeed entering the right combination
    10) Get the key from the page that follows, write it down, boot up tribes 2, enjoy.

If all that doesn't work, try making a new gamespy ID.

Im having some serious performance issues with this game.... If I could run Halo with my system this game shouldnt be a problem. I tried pretty much everything but I get a slide show every time.

I checked out some tweak guides for it... no dice =(

I think you're kinda late, considering I believe Saltzbad already has...

(most likely stupid) question about in game, but is there any way to build normal turret emplacements? ie. the ones you can get the barrels for? Well, that is unless you can change spider klamp/landspike turret barrels (because I haven't bothered to try that yet...)

If your playing the normal game without any admin mods, no thier anit no way to build the bases you can replace the barrels tho as i think you have figured. If you are playing on one of the special modded servers they sometimes include the bases for you to build aswell as various other things.
