Help With Mic

Whenever I use Voicechat it blinks in and out, clipping my voice into pieces. Fellow players have reported that the icon over my player fades in and out in addition to the voice box at the edge of the screen. I have adjusted my cl_cmdrate and cl_updaterate to the 30's, as I have read in other posts this seems to usually solve the problem. It had no effect. I have met only one other person who has the same problem, and he says he has tried everything to get it fixed with no success. Any tips would be great.

    try using a different button

    don't ask me why, but it worked for me

    i used to use mouse2 as my voice chat... it flicked on and off really fast like you said. i now use 's'

    In NS 2.0 and back, the microphone works perfectly and i can speak long sentences without ever jumping and without any noise.

    I and all my mates are having the same problem with the beta ns and further,

    The microphone has become very noisy/fuzzy almost like a robot noise.
    The microphone has also become very jumpy, even though my friend has a very high spec comp, the mic is still the same with many faults and we also have cable speed 600k+ internet so there's definitely no lag as an excuse.

    I find the mic essential while im playing NS and expect it to work for me.

    What has happened to the mic program? And can i fix it in simple steps?
