Micrphone Help

Ok I have this color cordinated headset and my headset works but my mic doesn't work I tried messing around with audio controls and so and nothing works. Anyone know how to fix this problem?

    ok first:
    look in your config, is there a key bound to +voicerecord ?
    and make sure you go through the ns settings and turn the mike volume up. Run the mike test in half life to see if your mike is working properly. Also, if you have another mike, try it. Alot of times its the mike thats broken. Also, you can try turning on the mike boost in the sound properties in windows.

    Of course I have a key bound to +voicercord. Tried everything it could be that my mic is dead or so but have to try a few things to make sure. Voice_loopback 1 too and that voice set up that comes with counter-strike retail. *Also had a usb headste too mic worked perfectly fine until I didn't take care of it well (Like putting things on wires and so) which means it broke. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->
