Combat Game Length.

10 minute timer.

Individual spawns.

Both designed to make combat games shorter. Why?

Is it just me, or did anyone else not MIND long stalemate-type brawls in combat mode? I didn't think it ruined the fun at all...quite the opposite, in fact. Two teams of level tens duking it out for 20, 30 minutes, was quite fun. In classic, you never really get to have the insanely fun hightech vs. highevo battles. That was the fun thing about combat, for me anyway...getting to run around fulltime with sg/ha AND JP (without having to beg the comm like a nub, either!), hurling hot lead at fades and onii. Now, you don't get to do that in combat either =/. There's not enough time for ANYONE to get to level 10 most games, much less whole teams, much less time for those teams to have fun with their 'big toys'. I dunno...I still like combat, but...I thought it was better without all the things designed to shorten the game. Can't there be a balance between unwillable stalemates and unsatisfying quickies?

Quickies seem alot more satisfying. And you can still rush any particular tree you want <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Long games were just really, really super-repetitive.

tbh play a siege map if you want to play onos/fade vs HA / Jp.

They are like combat only the marines win if no-one is destroyed after a certain ammount of time.

Server ops can change the time at will. Combat isn't supposed to be an hour long of deathmatch, it's supposed to be a short game. <- You can't argue that. This is how combat was intended, and what it's they're working towards.
