Can't Load Fast Enough To Comm

I want to comm, but i hardly get any experience. The only times i get to comm are:
1. The game ends really really quickly and theres time for another game
2. The comm is one of those "put down two ips and a tf then gets out and asks 'who wants to comm?'"
3. The comm gets out midgame and quits
By the time i get in the game, the game has already started and is 1 minute in. I know there is a plug-in (RRQuestion), but other than that, is there any way to speed up load-times, even by a few seconds? Any input is greatly appreciated.

You can try requesting to be a commander before the mapchange I suppose.
- Delete your custom.hpk file in /nsp. I believe it contains custom player sprays and can take up some serious loading time when it becomes big.
- Try to borrow some old RAM (memory) from friends that have bought a newer PC. This is how i do to upgrade my computer most of the time <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> RAM is very important for loading times.
- Add -noipx to your HL shortcut/launch parameters. It will disable that protocol, wich isnt used in a internet game anyway.
- Defrag your hard drive regulary <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
I know there's a program (I forgot the name) which lets you customize your defrag. For example it lets you arrange data like you want.
My suggestion: google it, and put the steam directory AT THE VERY BEGINNING OF YOUR HARD DISK. This is where data is read the most efficiently. And BTW it defrags faster than the windows tool ^^
If nobody's gonna command, you're dead anyway. Don't ruin the game for your team by screwing up whatever strategy the real comm has.

When I was playing CS back in the day, I would always be the first on the map due to disabling some of the unnecessary loading through the command line.
Here is a few links to look at...

Have fun.
Sure someone can always get in the chair before me...all i'm asking for is a chance to get in the chair.
When i join, its about ~30 seconds into the game already, and i have no chance to get in the chair. But if I could join before the game starts, i have a much bigger chance to command.
RAM is pretty key here. You want as much RAM as possible. (At least 256 quality ram)
I think it's way better just to die then a get a completely new game instead of just wasting time wanking around..

I got a 1.7ghz and 256 ram and i usually get in the game before the timer starts (or right when the beeping sound is played)
Depends, my first load of a NS map is slow compared to when the map changes on a server.
Also: defragging actually slowed my load times down if you can believe it.
Only if it fails does everybody gets a bit peeved.
450€ completely new computer ready for hl2 ^^
It took me some time to kill my instinct of getting out of chair and shooting that skulk only to my dismay that my grip on the mouse is quite different when I command that when I shoot, so my aim usually aint that hot when I pop right out of the chair and die <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo--> .
Commanding is fun when you feel like it, sometimes the burden of having to cater to other people's needs is just too much.
Takes some skill to command I say. But skill is nothing more than practice x time.
