<div class="IPBDescription">Based off of Mephmage's concept</div> It's based off of mephmage's knife concept, and I didn't feel like taking over his thread, so I started a new one.
You'll notice a few changes in the design, but overall it's the same, and I intend to put in handle Ergonomics later.

WTH?!
You don't ask permission to model something of a concept. Sure you should ask if you <i>release</i> the model but not just to model it.
Slim : Nice model, however i think the handle could do with fattening a wee bit.
j/k..
Nice model.

it's a concept, and he didnt post the model in a different thread without credits. Nor would he have relased without concent. I could understand you getting upset over someone modifing and or releasing without concent or credits.

sure you can model anything ye want.. but to show it off, I mean... its just decent and respectful to ask before, I'd probably say yes, but still... I wont start an argue about this, but I cant make anyone ask me, I can just kindly ask.
And no, the handle shouldnt be fattier, because its just a big flat metalpiece, and the handle is a long skin thingy thats wrapped around the handle, and kinda "melted" onto the metal.
And I modified the model to give it a little bit of diversity.
I really thought you'd at least respect the fact that I made a different thread and said that the concept was yours.
The next time I decide to model your concepts, I'll be sure to ask.
I really didn't feel like starting a flamewar (I guess we're lucky it hasn't gotten there yet). <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I'm not upset, but I live with this everyday, my parents, my brothers, and some of my friends, none of'em every asks before they do anything, taking stuff, modifying stuff, checking stuff on my comp.
And to have it like that here aswell is just.. A bit annoying, get it?
I dont want anyones pity, I just want ppl to ask before, is that too much to ask for?
The model is nice, indeed, better than mine, and sure I'm happy that he modeled it (even though I dont like the pointless hole in the middle of the blade.).
If this continues, then I guess its better not to post my concepts, because im not "mature" enough to accept that people wont ask me.
Best regards - Alix
Btw. sorry if I kinda stole yer thread, because from now on u're gonna have 32589023 flaming threads in here that doesnt belong to me.
And once again, a damn nice model, you made the thing above the handle look much better than I did! <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Didnt see this post before my last post, but everything forgiven.
And yeah, I do respect that you made yer own thread, I do, and once again, keep up yer good work, I hope this one gets done.
Btw. you should make 2 versions, one without the hole in the middle <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Edit: not much to forgive, but I wrote that In-case <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
I can always fill it up with a nice cube for your taste.
I had so much trouble trying to add ergonomics to the handle. I think I'll forget about the ergonomics since It can't be seen by people ingame anyways.
246 Faces (PC)...

Hey, remember that the handle is actually just skin wrapped on the outside of the metallic handle, so.. yeah <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Shitface, forgot I have maya 5 now, Gotta redownload all my export plugins. *Cry*
There's quite a story to tell with this knife, and it shall be told in the Readme.
Any takers on meshing and skinning?
This is like, the 4th model that I release... None prior to this got skinned.

it's always a better idea to zip it up with the concept, readme, and .3ds file... (not ms3d, it's not the accepted "standard" .3ds is)
i'll take a look at it... no promises though.
3DS, Concept, and Readme. (readme is incomplete)
[EDIT] Fixed the model, apparently, MS3D sucks at quad conversion. So I Triangulated in Maya and re-exported it. Updated the zip[EDIT]
So sorry for any inconvenience.
depends.. I can skin, but I have never skinned anything else than what you can do through Half Life Model Viewer, exporting texture, then retexture it... Well, if its similar I could give it a shot <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
but still, no promises
And del, it means shitloads that your at least trying.
