as said in title, its coop. Objective based, fun, but only one map atm.

The lead coder left, so i dont know if there will be any big updates or what is going on. But what ever, go enjoy the beta 1.0!

    I played for about half an hour, and if I didnt have to go eat now I'd have played it for a bit more.

    It's definately fun, shame about there being only one map though.

    Despite this a thumbs up from me. And I was only playing by myself, once some servers come up for this baby it's going to be some hot property methinks...

    Sp@zmong, Nyck and I just beat the only map serveral times. It's to easy, there's not enough Aliens for them to be a threat. And better weapons are too easy to get.

    I'm glad it's finally released, I remember when this was supposed to come out before NS. I also remember the developers saying some bad things about NS, although I can't remember what it was, does anyone know what I'm talking about?

    Who wants to host an NS community server for this?

    I'm getting errors with every install, and I've downloaded the file seven times already. Each time, it's a different file that's invalid. Is anyone else having problems installing?

    I like it...though once you get heavy armour, you're laughing. Shame there's only 1 map...Could OBVIOUSLY do with some major tweakage (the aliums move so slow it's unreal, the pistol is as effective as throwing a single piece of gravel at a time, heavy gear being extremely powerful, etc...)

    Has an awful lot of potential, but need more maps regardless...

    Just tried it alone and... how do you join the game? I'm stuck in spectator mode and there aren't any "join game" keys listed in the controls, and none of the controls seem to do anything.

    [edit] Nevermind, the script that starts the mission just fails at random, it worked the second time I tried it, but then stopped working again and I had to quit [/edit]

    And wasn't this supposed to have music? I know I saw the installer put mp3's somewhere, but there aren't any listed keys to start it.

    Yeah just played a game with Liku, don't know what they were thinking releasing it with only 1 map - just ran back and forth burning pissweak aliens for the better part of an hour. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    I think it has alot of potential, too bad it's practically dead.

    Pretty much all I have to say about the balance has been said in this thread already (the aliens move so slow it's ridiculous, heavy armour is extremely overpowered, the pistol is completely useless, and by the second round you can buy anything you want without putting a dent in your cash supply and win without any effort).

    There are tons of graphical bugs, the reload key doesn't work half of the times you press it, there is the whole "game won't start for seemingly no reason" thing, the enemies that sometimes just stop and do nothing for a few minutes at a time, the shotgun sometimes missing an enemy completely when you fire into its face at point blank range (might just be the blood sprites not appearing).

    As for the graphics, there are the bugs, the low poly monsters, and the weapons that all look the same.

    Maybe I'll warm up to it, but the state it's in is ridiculous when you consider the develepment time.

    So you're saying that the game is ok as it is, allowing you to beat it effortlessly, making many of the guns pointless, and making it easy to do alone what should be challenging with multiple players? If wanting a game that provides some sort of challenge is being a "Balance nazi" then I wear the label with pride.

    I was interested in this mod. The benefit of the aliens being bots is that the marines have got SO much equipment. They've basically taken every device from the aliens movies and pasted it in the game.

    It has some potential apart from the fact that I keep forgetting how to spell it, let alone say it. Its a shame there are hardly any maps too, and the aliens are weak.

    The horrible Low-poly Monsters can be fixed with model replacements. (I've heard of improving performance with low poly stuff but I've seen more curves on the original Half-Life scientists) and more maps can be made.

    Its a shame some of the team have just released it and left. Its like they got bored, released an unfinished game and went on to do other things.

    It does work under steam. I know Liku was using it to play last night (I joined the server but was too late, server was shut down about 3 mins after I joined.) I occasionally get hl.exe crashes when playing it, though.

    And I cannot find any finished maps in that forum. Maybe it's just me, but all that's there is a load of screenshots (and I think I saw 1 beta map release last night)

    Oh, and about the pistol. I unloaded one into a small alien. You know, the most common one. It didn't die. 80 rounds and it DIDN'T die.

    assuming that the guys WASN'T trying to make his mod looks tupid this is what I tihnk they ment:

    Sadly, there's nothing "Co-op" about Sven other than being on the same team. You just kill whatever you see not caring what happens to your team. The RE: TA is the only map that I've actually seen teamwork used in, especially on Insane. I only have Sven for the RE: TA map series, it's a shame.

    Yea this mod is really team based, but it needs some sort of respawn and to fix a few bugs such as following:
    Chaingun not firing when in 100+ ping
    2nd grenade fire sound looping (fix with stopsound)
    Pistol too weak
    Chainblade suxage/anims dont fire
    aliens need to move faster
    turrets need to be more effective

    But their all small bugs, i really like the mod and those should be easy fixes.

    More maps on the fourms BTW, so go look <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    I remember in the old days there was a lot of rivalry between the Paroxysm and NS community.

    I recall that the Paroxysm community's main reason that Paroxysm was better than NS was that "NS will never be released and will be buggy."

    Pfft.
