I don't mind the idea of a "ghetto" theme much, and I'll wait to pass judgment until the game releases. Rockstar made me appreciate the eighties with GTA:VC - quite the feat, indeed - so I doubt that they will screw one up.
Bad graphics on ps2 = a television screen from a couch = pretty graphics.
Also, if Gta3 and gta:vc are any indication, all the game needs is a few more features, new missions, and a big world to explore and it will be incredibly fun for a long time.

Whoa, they're really striking out in a new direction with this game. Guns, cars, gangs, orange lighting, and a slum-like town. It's so different from Vice City I think my head is going to explode.
Or maybe the just want more $$$ before some senator votes to smart bomb them.
Who cares? It's a free form game which means it will still be fun. And no one is calling it Gta4 or a new wave of gameplay, it's simply another addition to the gta3 "franchise".

Also, a new graphics engine would be great. Or at least, a massively improved one (even though the game looks nice). I am not going to play this on a playstation anyway, computer is the way to go.
the environmental concept of san andreas is somewhat disappointing...the "ghetto" atmosphere just doesnt seem like it'll be up to par with the previous GTA concepts. it wont have as much of a popular appeal, i dont think. oh well...you never know. rockstar comes up with some awesome products and i guess they know what theyre doing
