Don't worry. Even if CS is made the Official MP, you'll still have mods. I mean, HL2 has mod teams OUT THE WAZOO. Don't worry. And I doubt Valve would make CS the official MP. It HAS to be DM. Every FPS released ever has had a DM mode of some sort available.

okay the way i understand it'll be is that hl2 will have its "own" mp but cs:source will be shipped with hl2 while the rest of hl1 source will ship seperately.
The official Half-life trailer (from half-life2.com.. the official site)
And 1 of the E3 2004 vids. Here's a bit torrent link to the E3 2004 vid: <a href='http://www.eurofiles.net/torrents/Half%20Life%202%20and%20CounterStrike%20E3%20demo%20movie.avi.torrent' target='_blank'>http://www.eurofiles.net/torrents/Half%20L...vie.avi.torrent</a>
Note that it is rather low quality, and goes out of focus in parts. But it's still pretty awesome =D

CS: Source isn't CS2, that's been confirmed by a Valve guy. However, it seems CS: Source will be stand-alone. I have an idea that all the Source revampings, such as CS, opposing Force and the original Half-Life will be released together as "The Source Pack" or something like that.
I'm pretty sure CS: Source isn't HL2's MP, however. Expect DM using HL2 content at the very least.
I put a bet on with a friend that Cs would be put in HL2 mainly for one reason
90% of valves on-line community play CS == 90% will want to play CS with bump mapping <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Any other mod would bring a very small numbers of players on
anyways i'm off to collect my ?20 <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

And no, TF2 is not HL2's MP. It's been confirmed as a retail game, and it isn't a remake of anything.

In magazines recently (Last issue of PC Zone UK, if i remember correctly) it was stated that work on TF2 would resume after HL2's release.
Is it because you only play on random pubs? Hell NS is a horrible experience if you just go play on any old random server. But it's GREAT if you have a <a href='http://www.lunixmonster.org' target='_blank'>regular</a> server to play on where you know the people. The same goes for CS.
By the way, is no-one going to comment on the new 10 minutes of gameplay shown?
- The G-Man's dialogue is as brilliant as ever.
- The atmosphere in the apartment as the dishevelled civilians talk is superb: "Was that you knocking? I didn't know we had a door anymore..."
- The zombie-infested town seemes like physics-heaven: razor blades, paint cans, swinging corpses <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo--> Oh, and the zombie's scream when it's set on fire simply has to be heard.
- The fight between you and the civilians and the Striders seems epic.
- Plus all the other little fun details like using the Manipulator to pick up Combine hand grenades and throw them back at their previous owners. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Other HL2 videos have been impressive, but this really convinced me that it's going to live up to every promise made.

:O :O :O<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd--> Would sum it up pretty nicely.
For both CS and HL (but more so for HL).
And DOOManiac, the vertex lighting system seems to get the job done relatively well, but I guess it isn't quite Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow...
Wow, despite the horrid quality, that video pwned the ponce off of me. All of the detail, the physics, and most of all, that Strider clip left me shell shocked. I have even more faith in the game now than I did back at E3 last year, let's just hope the release date will stay the same. (they're in the Beta stages right now, so expect to see it late-Julyish or early-Augustish)

I myself used to think CS was the spawn of satan, but it's actually a fun game
Isn't the devil a woman in a red dress?
