Do You Have To Skin Every Face?

lets say i dont skin a face (or even skinmesh) that is not visible, will it still be possible to export to smd and compile to mdl?

    i dont know, theres like 2 of them on my model

    im a n00b modeler too :|

    edit-i figured out why
    its because its the side of a group and the two sides of the groups meet

    will i be fine with no skin on these 2 spots?

    You cannot export to smd without all groups being assigned to materials.     It is best to delete faces you will not see though, lowers polycounty by half sometimes.     To summarise what has been said. If you don't need to skin it, then it doesn't need to be in the model.
