Never Let Your Brother Near The Control Pannel

you might end up like bm
i'm the admin of my computer, and it's relatively easy to screw around with my stuff (hop on when i grab some food etc)
i have now learned a lesson that shal not be forgotten (passworded screensaver set to 60s + 2s grace)
he messed around with the control pannel and a few other things, including one option that i cant seem to find: whenever i hit control [ctrl] winxp decides that i apparantly have managed to lose my mouse cursor and am too stupid to go looking for it. it kindly draws a shrinking circle around it for me. this gets annoying becuase is shows up in meh games when i try to crouch.
if you know where to find the checkbox for this elusive and ever annoying option or have a sibling problem of your own (or you want to laugh and call bm a nubtart for letting his hyperactive sibling near his computer) feel free to post.

That's a mouse setting. Go to your control pannel, hit printers and other hardware. Go to the mouse options, and go to the pointer option tab. It's a setting there.
EDIT: Photos for your viewing pleaure:
My personal favourite is jumping the mouse pointer to the active button. Highly annoying and unhelpfull.
Hey, I use that :X

Well, you're highly annoying and unhelpful too, so it fits. (<3)

(now we know something is wrong)
edit: cwag's idea is looking very nice right about now
(ima snoop around with regedit)
You should get him back somehow, CWAG is onto something. That would be pretty cool.
apparently most everything doesnt include the whole draw a circle around my freaking cursor so i dont loose it option
edit: why you ask, he's an annoying little ... brother. how: i r admin, i got up to [insert some reason here]

You are likely to be using a different mouse driver that provides a different set of control panel options. Try checking the tabs available and see if the option is there. If not, try changing your mouse driver to one of those default mouse drivers provided along with Windoze XP.
If it still doesn't try using the System Restore. Just restore your system to a checkpoint before the my-brother-fiddled-with-my-computer incident.
anyone happen to have a set of generic (4 button + wheel) mouse drivers lying around? (cordless usb)
i hereby solemly swear to never, ever work with a dell again. EVAR
i may try dell's horrendously pathetically horrible tech suport ... ASDF
go to control panel and look see if you can removed the blip from there. once it is removed, reinstall your logictech driver?

Mine is highly annoying mouse acceleration that can't be turned off completely(or even close to it) without obscure registry tweaks.
Nah,
Format C:\ |y

Pipe feeds all text following it into the command first entered.

Are you sure?
Y
Bwhahaha.
Now there's this little file called autoexec.bat that is just pleading for you to update it...
EDIT:
On the mouse front, uninstall the custom driver, reboot, install defautl driver, reboot, fix setting, install custom driver. Good luck.
i'll try fix it when i get home (then we plays trixes on him, starting with haxing his password)
except i told it to do that when i set it up, not knowing how damn annoying it would be, and i haven't changed the drivers and it won't let me change it back
i tried the laters drivers and.... nothing
the Rundll as an app thing doesnt happen to me, although i did see a file in the windows/system(might have been system32) folder saying run dll as an app
i deleted it and it solved some other problems i was having(spyware, without a scanner style)

They are on teh intarweb. Go to Dell.com, support, downloads. Enter the model number of your PC, then get all your drivers. You may even find some updated drivers (I found a new BIOS last time I did this).
I know him (and his brother, coincidentally) personally. It's closer to the latter. He's 13 and has the mind of a 6 year old.
i've got a logitech one and the logitech drivers don't have anything like this on them
In the top left
i fixed the problem by completely removing all of logi-crap's software (mouseware and itouch) and reinstalling a limited version of itouch and leaving mouseware well away from my computer.
mouse and keyboard response time chopped into iddy biddy bits because they dont have to run through years old apps made for win2k anymore. (and mouseware doesn't randomly change the function of my middle mouse button anymore!)
i will love him to death with a length of piano wire now
