I did plan on it, but so far ive been building a vent. No water, just really big.
I should probably explain the whole Nexus thing.
AHEM!
'The nexus computer system is designed to make the processes of a city autonomous, reducing the amount of human error and need for manpower, it also allows the city to put funds into other projects. The nexus avatar is a sub program of nexus that allows it to be interactive with humans. Basically, its a hologram with personality, and resides at key areas around facilities (if it were free roaming there would be situations where hackers could isolate the program) and from these key areas, it reports to the workers of the facility (although they're more like supervisors) what is going inside the system, and the course of action it will take.'

If you want more info i'll reply later. <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd--> okey nice. But tell me more about the map later. This map is a royal palace.
I only just realised that i used your name for the naming of the rooms <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->
The nexus corridor is a more darkish orange colour in game, but I couldnt see the picture very well so I bumped the brightness up.

Some tips and gues what? they are free <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Spice up the lighting a bit, since it looks like you've used only one color lighting and it's also to evenly lit. add some variation in color to make it look interesting. And make some use of shadows, they are very atmospheric and can help spice up the map a lot.
The yel_grey looks nice (DarkATi gonna flame me for this <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> ), but the walls could use some breaking up with pipes, console etc... It looks to repetive at the moment.
This is one big wide open area. Aliens are going to have a hard time keeping it out of marines hands. Like some other areas add some cover for the aliens so they also have a chance on the map. Its now an alien meatgrinder
EDIT: ok ok, I gave it a test run with a friend and aliens get owned pretty easy.
I took your advice and added some computers and more light to the area. It takes a gorge around 18 seconds to get from one side to the other. But I wanted this area to be a point of conflict, since its the shortest pathway to the next hive.
You are making fantastic proggres in your mapping, the wires look kinda "to mutch", maybe add somthing sticking down in random spaces to keep you from seeing how mutch the texture is repeting
Well, at least make it so the res node spot is natural. Maybe the res comes out of a pipe underneath it. That's what I meant actually. What I'm trying to say is: the platform is too thin, either make it thicker or put something underneath it, for reality's sake.
There IS something down there. Heres a shot for your convinience <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd--> man the map is too bright..use overlays FX for the pc screens hanging over the resnode. Other some i dont like : why is the floor some different scaled on some areas.?
Well keep up the work and realize : this map is good but! but fix plz the lighting.
this map is looking better and better keep it up dude i have one suggestion for now
for the resnode on the platform the base of the playform is kinda round yet the railing is just a square with gaps i suggest making the railing round like the base and connecting it to the other rails
I've added a new room (partially complete) called 'Nexus Monitoring and Bacterial Observation' (for monitoring of bacteria in the air) The computer in the middle there is accesible by any small aliens and by crouching. Im going to add soem wires in there, and mabye add a forcefield like door to the light structures ive built around.
Comments
im thinking something like 'Nexus/Vent Junction'
The blackened area will branch off to another corridor.
? i gonna love this map! <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> Nice work A|ien!
but try one thing. If you want..Place some lava maybye? And something like water..
Just if you want.
I should probably explain the whole Nexus thing.

I took away the light from one of the screens and gave it a spark, so the lighting is now a little more balanced.

I'll give it another shot, but then I want to move on
