No cm v2.0, but everything else
It doesn't explicitly talk about the CM 2.0 (that's in a document included with the NSTR2 that Merk wrote), but it talks about everything else. Check it out if you're dying for more info about the NSTR2. The changelog is at the top.

    *sobs, and leans on Bob for support* I really don't understand all this secrecy around CM2. I really really don't.

    It's a simple rule of marketing and PR, Molec. You generate more interest with what you don't tell the customer than with what you do tell them.

    I hate to point this out but for the moment fog support is BROKEN! It'll work, but sprites won't show up properly. We're not sure if this a fog limitation or if theres a way to overcome it. I just thought I'd post this so I can say 'I told you so' when complaints file in on the tech release forum

    What?! That's like releasing the NSTR without in game particle editing!

    (Or are you pulling my leg, or not using it in OpenGL?)

    I'm not convinced it's broken personally. I think the sprite used by the welder may not be completely black on the edges (if you look carefully when using it outside of fog it looks square too).

    <sticks tongue out at Merks>
    Sorry if things aren't perfect, we have a game to write. If I spend all my time on the NSTR we'll never have a game. The purpose of it is to make sure the community mappers have the tools they need to make their maps.

    So... does it work or doesn't it? And the welder's broken too? Or it just doesn't look 'perfect'?

    Stop saying broken. You will scare the kids. They are talking about a slight visual peculiarity you see when using the welder. Nothing is broken.

    But what about the fog? Merkaba said 'fog' not 'welder'! I coulda -sworn- he said 'fog'!

    When in the middle of the OpenGL fog, using the welder gives off a weird visual effect, which Flay thinks can be attributed to the actual welding sprite itself. Since the OpenGL fog is not a hugely important aspect to NS, neither is the bug.

    OK, you guys are right. The fog support is very...very...problematic. I hope to have a fix from Valve sometime soon, in the meantime, you may want to skip it.

    It's not like the GL fog looks very good anyway. I for one won't use it.
