Silence, Celerity or Adrenaline
Assume you have 2 hives, DC's and MC's. Which MC upgrade do you take?
I used to adore celerity because that extra speed is awesome and means those jumping marines have no chance of getting away from you. Should trouble appear then that extra blink speed comes in handy. The big draw back is that you have to manage your adrenaline quite well lest you try and blink away with nothing left, which I'll admit is possible but has also been the death of me too many times. Celerity in my opinion is great for quick in and out strikes.
Adrenaline is now my choice of upgrade though simply because you can do crazy blinking manouvers. A tall room is just a dream when you have adrenaline. Blink in, hit, blink up and to the side, blink back towards then, hit and repeat. Most marines won't have a clue what to do or a chance in hell. You also never have the problem of running out of energy to blink (You can fly if you have adren). Some jumping marines can cause some problems though which is just countered by blinking really.
Now silence I've tried experimenting with and often you get some nice benafit out of it, even if they have MT. You come up behind a marine start swiping and its almost by the 2nd swipe that they realise whats going on. His team mates don't have a clue whats going on until he starts spraying madly. Its great for ambushing marines and can cause a lot of confussion. Useless in my opinion for attacking outposts and end game because sight is all they need to know your coming.
As I said I almost always pick adrenaline but I'm interested in what the rest of you use and why?
Also do you think certain MC upgrades work better with different DC? For instance Celerity and Cara, for the tank fade. Adrenaline and Regen for the ever present fade. Even Silence and Redemption for the silent dissapearing fade.
As a seperate point... You have 1 hive and 3 MC's, which upgrade do you choose?
Silence is probably most effective at the start of a game.
Adrenaline will make sure you can get out of there.
Celerity again for quick strikes then back to the hive to heal in no time.
So far I've used silence to best effect

Although, if I'm just a backup Fade and not a primary, Adren to fight near a Hive is pretty fun. Its main disadvantage, lower speed, is really secondary when you're just flying circles around the Hive and coming back down to swipe Heavys again once you're at full health. But honestly, in all other situations its just a bit icky having less speed vs heavy weaponry.
Silence is sweet too, but while you get in a bit easier, getting away will be like you're a standard Hive 1 DC Fade. Makes you less effective against those focused assaults that are already a Fades worst nightmare. But its hours of fun on pubs
It's like leap/bite, once you learn it, you mastered it.
iv tryed silence and cel before and silence is ace if ur a assasin kinda player, but celerity is best if u wanna break group of marines into seperate, smaller groups...
off-topic;
whats the best upgrades for fade in combat??? once u have those last points after u have just faded without any other upgrades, what should u get first, second, thrid etc... i allways own as a skulk in combat... as u can c from my sig if i cen get piccy on there (p.s. 2 had hmg's 1 had gl and other had lmg... plus they were in a group around corner lol)
I take adren so I can spam meta and blink swiping. I take cara so that I can take that little bit more damage from marines if I get trapped/screw up. With adren, meta healing is very effective, and at mid-late game you can almost guarantee a DC near you anyway.
Early game my choices would change, but I rarely if ever go Fade in the early game. Much more useful as a gorge.
I find with celerity you kind of have to blink in one direction, you can't do zig zag blinking which adrenaline lets you.
Thinking about it, I think celerity fades and adren fades are like sg's and hmg's. Both are great, but are so much better when deployed together...
EDIT: Perhaps I should use the word think a bit more :/
And I still enjoy celerity fade, meta does the job almost as well as adren.
And hive 1 fade...never. I'm saving for the second hive, or putting up rts or chambers or something. Only when I'm the ONLY one with res and a fade is desperately needed do I fade with one hive.
Early game they're terrifying. Late game they're a bit of waste unless you're *very* good or have a death wish. Only problem is once they spot you, you're dead. Or at the very least 2 miles from the nearest hive with no way to heal.
However, worth it for the 5 minutes of fun you have chuckling around marines before dicing them like carrots.
Silence itself is nice if you don't need adren or celer. If you've got good gorges, and you plan to snipe ninjas/scouts, then silence can help. I'd probably team it with regen since without adren metahealing will take a looong while. Just remember the marines will get wise to you, and if you attack a group then silence won't help hide the sound of gunfire from the marine you're killing.
Silence is truly **** until they get MT and constantly have their map up making an ambush darn near impossible. Swipe, swipe, gun falls down, swipe, swipe, gun falls, swipe, swipe, gun falls and marines finally realize WTH is going on.
Adrenline is nice if you can not switch your weapons like a crazed idiot =-p.
