*sigh* This is disappointing - once upon a time threads about rips would be locked. Now mods are trying to host the files themselves.

i don't see what's so wrong with ripping
    halo is released officially

besides, no-one complains about avp2 rips?

Well if ripping was legal i suppose theres no need for copyright now is there?
  • PharcaePharcae Join Date: 2004-01-06 Member: 25101Members, Constellation
Well if you want a working mirror you could upload it on the TSA.
    <a href='http://tsa.navids.com/' target='_blank'>TSA</a>
(click the "download" button in the left menu and the click the "submit a new document" button) and it will be up as soon as it is viruschecked.

all UT stuff is lock-on-sight as unreal has come out and said it's illegal to rip, if you'd like to inform me of press releases or cases where bungie or the halo staff have locked down conversions from the x-box disks... then all halo projects will be lock-on-sight...

i'm sorry, but i don't go by principal... i go by press releases... as one of them seems to have a little more legal standing.

Sorry about the link, my ISP is being craptacular recently. Down about 50% of the time. I'll upload it to TSA if I ever get the verification email.

Edit: one of my ISP's routers seems to have a problem, the tracert to my server fails somewhere around there.

Yea, in milkshape, select all the faces and goto your texture coordinator. Select the wide side of your weapon in the dropdown box to the right and select the one to make the proper mesh. Then you can select your individual faces and attach them the the right spots on the skin (use dropdown box again to fix the "streched skin" problem on top/bottom/front/rear on the model. Or just follow black panthers tutorial on milkshape skinmeshing for alot of help on how to fix it.

*edit* oh yea, press remap to redraw the mesh <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Okay in the time between now and when my ISP gets their act together and stops telling me to reboot my comp (to resolve an issue with one of their routers), I'll remesh as many of these models as possible. Depending on how long this useless crap of an ISP takes, I might have time to animate... or HL2 might come out, become obsolete, and be replaced by HL3 before they fix the problem. That's the problem with living in Alberta. Two ISPs. Telus and Shaw. Shaw doesn't let you host a server that gets any major traffic, so i'm stuck with Telus. The average support call is 4 hours (3 hours 55 minutes on hold) and 5 minutes of being told to reboot and call back if the problem is still there. Bah.

AR Sounds it is then. The NS board attachment limit is JUST big enough to spread this over 2 posts <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    CODEC:

I just got off the phone with my worthless ISP and they finally realize that the problem can't be fixed by rebooting my server hundreds of times (as they have previously suggested), and they're working on it. Should be up by the end of the day.
