Care to repeat that? Maybe with a little more detail, cause I have no idea what you're talking about .

The moderators dont like it when you talk about that program and this will probably soon be locked.

Actually, we stopped prosecuting the linking when the mute-bug was fixed some while ago as griefers can't really annoy half a server thanks to it anymore.

That said, I for mine would still think twice before using something like this.

playing pre-recorded .wav files over VC won't work as well as you intend [or think it would]. HL's voice comm. system works well with a person's voice, and a person's voice only. Trust me, it's not worth the trouble. 8 times out of 10 the music i tested with the program was heavilly distorted. 1 time out of 10 the music actually played, but sounded terrible. 1 time out of 10 the music played moderately well. it will never play very well.

If you really want it, google for it. (try something like HL sound system or something)

I think there's a client command, something like voice_playfromfile or recordfromfile... Dunno for sure, haven't tried it.

I assume naming it will be legit as well.

According to my knowledge, the program is called:
*NUKED.*

It involves converting whatever you want to play into a certain type of audio format, creating a playlist and then bind a key to activate the wav file in-game through your microphone.

I think most server admins are rather quick to whoop one's tooshy if you use it, or other players will mute you very swiftly, so as Nemesis Zero said; think well before you use it.

You should very easily be able to pull it from the internet by googling, I'm not posting a link because maybe people who want to use it will actually think about using it, or don't bother anymore because they're too lazy .

Hopefully now there's 1 post with the actual title of the program in it, people that are smart enough to use the search function will wind up here and won't make any future posts upon this subject .

Quite frankly, using the program is alot of hassle for a crappy result and a very limited period of "fun" .

Ohh, I thought those guys just put their mikes next to really good speakers .
Considering I can hear background noises sometimes, that is what some people do I think.

The *NUKED* thing is not even close for playing music in voice com. Anyway you will usally get banned and definately muted in most servers. (From personal experience watching people using this program) **** is only good for playing words such as "Hello" and others.

The reason it plays bad sometimes is because the music isn't the right bitrate.

So that's what I've been hearing, rather annoying so far. I guess it's been annoying is because that the people that have made it annoying used crappy sound bites of annoying sounds. Has anyone ever made up a bunch of binds for it that enhances the built in responses to the NS pop up menu? Like prerecorded team announcments: alien/marine at base/hive! , Cloaked Aliens!, Jetpackers! and so on.

Infact, you don't need any program to do this, it only requires a few simple steps which I will not go into too much detail about:
Create a .wav file
Make the recording format 8KHz 16-bit mono
rename the .wav file to "voice_input.wav"
place in ur nsp folder
set voice_loopback to 1
set voice_inputfromfile to 1
hit your talk key

Of course there are binds to automate the last 3 steps but I'll let you find them.
Remember only play files with GOOD taste and don't spam, you will be muted, so when you're calling for a PG or sg you'll know why your comm can't hear you.

Prosecute, no. Prevent the spread of via the forums as a vector, yes. It serves no purpose beyond to annoy players looking to get in a decent game.
