<div class="IPBDescription">like chuckle...</div> Remember how several people got excited over how similar the alien chuckel is to one of the zealot sounds in StarCraft ?
It was later discovered that the NS dev's used a public sound bank, or something like that, some professional sounds distributed amongst game develoeprs (like StarCraft..).
I THINK I've caught another sound, this time linking it to a cartridge game on a 16 bit syetem..
The systems are Genesis/SNES. What game? Bevis & Butthead. The one where they had to find all the pieces of the GWAR concert tickets, you know? Anyone remember this?
Well do you remember the sound the enemies make (like those janitors throwing burritos at you or whatever, and the redneck with the spraypaint can) when you attack them?
This kind of gut wrenching "ARGUH!" they make after Bevis farts on them or Butthead burps on them?
Well think about that, then think about the sound the marines make when they die, like when they fall down from far above. It's, as far as I can tell, the EXACT same "ARGUH!"
This isn't TOO far fetched a question, cause this is a gamer's board... I'm sure someone out there knows what I'm talking about?
Does ANYONE know what I mean? Has anyone noticed this? In my infinite bordom I might get a sound clip from the genesis ROM and compare it to the sound from the game.

Comments
it stars barry baswick (i know him from the diet-pepsi twist ad...)
the movie's name is called "Project Metal Beast" ... and it's an absolute hoot..
<b> BUT...</b> every, and yes, i mean EVERY sound was taken from the public sound bank that was used in NS and the creation of Half-Life...
i ran around the house when i heard something simmilar to the headcrab leap sound... and their elecric doors... are always nice...
Chuckle is an exact match of a sound made in (lvl4?) on the original marine mission if you click one of the passive creatures repetedly.
edit: or rather was since the changed chuckle recently, I'm sticking with the old one though.
If they're not from public domain; who were the voice actors?
I beleive he hired the Starcraft Dropship pilot for the Hive voices...

'Cause if it is, I have to get it, with a storyline like this:
<!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->Ever wonder what a werewolf would be like if it had superhard metal skin?<!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif' /><!--endemo--> Neither have I. But the writers of this film did. And their version of what would occur makes for a surprisingly watchable lowend horror/sci-fi outing.
Without straying to far into spoilerville, the movie concerns the efforts of a pair of government covert types taken with the notion making a super solider with the aid of werewolf blood.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I've never played Starcraft so forgive my ignorance. I'm pretty certain I read somewhere that a female did the alien sounds. Is the dropship pilot a female?
Just saying since last time this was brought up someone was like "OMG she can do that alien voice, she must be like, the BEST voice actress in the world!".
Nub.

Considering she voiced Rouge the Bat, I'd be inclined to think otherwise anyway...<!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
