Commanding Orders

I know there are different types of orders to give to marines, i.e. build target, move to target, defend target, but I don't know how to do any of them! Usually I just right click where I want marines to go and hope they figure it out. What key combinations do you press to get the different orders and what are all the different orders??

Thx

Most of those orders are very hard to make in current NS, for example "Weld Target" requires you to click on an exact pixel in some weldable door. So, you basically just have to find the right spot, but theyre very hard to make.

But there are some servers that have a plugin which fixes all those waypoints, so you can just click on a building and get "Build Structure Waypoint". Or you click on an Offense Chamber and it goes "Enemy is Nearby" with the corresponding waypoint.

212.42.13.20:27015 is one server that has this plugin, if you want to check them out.

Yeah these are really useful... Is there anyway to bind them to certain keys?

No, the only way to make them appear is by clicking on their corresponding objective, although it's really hard to do in current versions. Defend target works on marines and structures; build target works on unbuilt buildings; enemy at waypoint works on aliens and finished alien buildings; weld target works on any weld points.

am i the only person who misses giving a marine a command to defend himself due to a lack of obedience? :<

anyway, suppose you manage to get an "enemy is nearby" order on a skulk
and he gets out of your sight
does the command stay as though the skulk is parasited?
same question for a skulk that gets cloaked, though still in your sight

The "Enemy is Nearby" Waypoint stops where the enemy was last sighted. If the enemy comes back into view, they are tracked again. Motion tracking does not count with this type of waypoint. This waypoint could be used to alert lone marines who might be distracted building or welding. In any case, more servers seem to be picking up this plugin.
