    Or you could just learn German <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> .

    It's cool when you understand something without having to look at the words written down or find definitions for words. Engel is pretty easy for this, to me at least.

    ...That's pretty much the only Rammstein song I know. I think there was a Du Hast (maybe it was du hasst, they sound the same to me) and maybe Feuer Frei. Don't think I've ever heard the full songs though.

    [<-- does have some Russian techno on the computer...don't understand half of it though, pffft]

    Ever seen the commercial of the non-english speaking family head banging in the car...You have your average family of 40ish mom and dad, and the pre-teen daughter and teen son....

    The funny thing is the song playing is a techno song titled "I want to F--- you in the A-S"

    Commercial ends with "LEARN ENGLISH"

    Kinda like that with Rammstien, I could be head banging to something that would make my stomach turn, but I still listen... <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    While Rammstein isn't exactly ...'friendly' music, from what I've heard it's not overly evil or anything <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> .

    Just a quick example after looking up the Engel lyrics thing (don't want to hear a word wrong listening to it <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->):

    I used the photoshop compressor set to 0 (it goes from 0 to 12) because it doesn't take a lot of quality to get the message across and the image is 1280x1024, which is 4-5MB in bmp quality, and with the uber-compression it's just over 100K

    No, he got it right.

    For the record, I hate Rammstein with all the passion my dark little heart can produce. Why? Well, I understand <i>all</i> of their lyrics, and Engel is the by far most coherent of the bunch.
    If you want good German music, try Die Ärzte ('Schrei nach Liebe' shouldn't require German skills to like), Terrorgruppe, Wizo, the Donots, the Beatsteaks (both sing in English), Sportfreunde Stiller, or the Toten Hosen. Hell, try the Bösen Onkelz if you don't mind their more 'controversial' texts. Rammstein? Bah.

    it's a mixture of a few things....

    <a href='http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/902324/' target='_blank'>http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/902324/</a>

    that has a lot of similar themes, I'm specifically using "Sentinel Blue" from the pack.

    which requires some kind of XP theme unlocker thingy, I know that downloading the free trial of styleXP from <a href='http://www.tgtsoft.com/' target='_blank'>http://www.tgtsoft.com/</a> unlocks it, but I think there was some other free unlocker floating around the net that didn't have a time limit.

    When using that theme, if your taskbar has a little break in it between the start menu button and the quick launch/application tray. Then you need to "Lock the Taskbar" which is available by right clicking the taskbar.

    and then I replaced the background with my own custom one (I know you can't see it in the screenie, but it completes the set)

    <img src='http://www.0x01A4.com/files/tsabg/tsa.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />

    Which I have available as a 1280x1024 BMP at <a href='http://www.0x01A4.com/files/tsabg/tsa.zip' target='_blank'>http://www.0x01A4.com/files/tsabg/tsa.zip</a>

    OK, then imagine someone putting the badger song on a few kickass riffs. Would you still say that lyrics make no difference? One of Rammsteins singles consists mainly of counting "One, two, one.". It ticks you off after a while.

    What about The Wise Guys? Granted all I've heard is Jetzt ist Sommer, but it's a pretty kooky and crazy song (if for the lyrics alone, since the music isn't really all about the music with that).

    If only foreign artists' CDs were cheaper here. I was looking into getting a Virus (Вирус for the crazy cyrillic people) CD, but pffft, too much. Inflation of record companies + shipping + crazy shipping record company's cut = beyond my meager earnings.

    [I still say it's an awesome coincidence...people should end more thread titles in elipses to create funny phrases - hopefully not in a spamming fashion though. On that note, almost every one of my thread subtitles begins with an elipse.]

    Speaking as someone with a crazy passion for obscure American alt-rock (on that note, everyone, go get 'Just give us the Grammy now' from The Goodyear Pimps, it rocks), bandsites are your friend. Cutting off the middleman always saves some dough, and some bands even pay shipping costs for merchandise from their HPs themselves. Nemesis, those bands, are they similar to Rammstien in style...I enjoy the music more than I know the words, and yes the song Sonne is the one they count on, I am sure the meaning of the songs would drive me crazy.
