Set Order Of Activation To Open A Door

...or any other target...
Okay...I want to make it so the player has to activate several buttons in order to activate a door. If they make a mistake and push a button not in that order, or push a faulty button that does nothing at all, the door does not open.
Don't ask me why I am doing this please!

I'm sure I've seen something like this discussed earlier. I'm not sure if it was here, but try to search these forums. I remember someone even managed to get that thing work properly. I'm now going to perform a quick search...

Well I managed to find a *.rmf in my computer that explains one method to create such a lock. However, the download didn't include any readme and I'm thereby not able to give any credits, just to say it's not made by me. The author meant it to be help for anyone who wants to make such doors so I'm pretty sure I can hand it to you.

Thanks, I'll look at it when I get on my mapping computer...

...oh ****, my computer shut down when I tried to save it over the network...
Well, I saved it to the hard drive, this McAfee crap does more harm than good IMO
I have to map the hard drive to my computer so McAfee thinks that hard drive is on my computer and is safe.

...that really wasn't what I was looking for, you can do the switches in any order...
thanks though
Let me be more specific,
-Switches will reset over time
-Switches must be tripped in order
-False switches
-Must be reusable

Thanks!

You might be on to something though, I'll see if it works out...

Can you tell me how to do that?
That is exactly what I want.

Hold on, I made somthing like this also. Except, in mine, if you mess up any of the switches then it won't open until the map resets/ new round begins.

Seems the old thread was deleted and I've reformated my HD since then, wait have one more place to check.

Edit2: ahah! It was still uploaded to my webspace I'll get a link in a sec.

Err...okay, but there should be a way in yours so you can reset it, right?
You CAN talk to me in terms of entities/brushes.

Okay, here it is. Just check out the rmf and you can probably figure out how it works.

Also, if you wanted it to be able to reset, you could set a multi manager that raises new pieces of glass after a set period of time, or something like that. I originally made this for my map as a ready room secret I might end up using it anyway also.

Yes, that is true, but that has no relation to what we are doing besides the word "entity"

*Section removed due to offensive content*
Seriously though, nothing can quite explain that right there.

Well, I found a way.
Thanks guys for your help, I would have never done it without you. I combined both of your ideas and made the ultimate lock.

YES, I successfully created my locks with all requirements.
Thank you for your ideas.
