But he didn't leave, and he's working on a Tomb Raider game now... Tomb Raider! No more PC games from Warren Spector, it seems.

Oh well. Some game gods die young, I suppose.

I wouldn't be too sure about any of this. Eidos has made an awful PR job surrounding these lay-offs, so it'll take a few days until the confusion clears off.

I don't believe this particular rumor because it's too convenient: Spector noted on a GDC panel about the merits of designing sequels that he would love to create sequels to a number of games, among them TR. Seems someone did a little cross-reading. Last thing I knew of Spectors new projects was that he was already working on Deus Ex 3 (at least that's what he told the GWJ crew on the E3), so if he's still with Ion / Eidos, I assume he won't abort a project that's already WIP.

As for the demo, it bought me on the game. I can't really see what nags people have with the graphics - granted, it's not Doom 3, but all said and done, they're quite damn nice.

    You're crazy.

Anyhow, I'm not really looking forward to this game, but I'll give the demo a whirl to see how it compares to the prequels.

    Why? The guy's a snob.

I'd love to see what the demo's like, but I can't seem to get the non-corrupted version of it - I've tried different sites each time, but I get the corrupt version that's going around each time. Could you please post the link you got it from, if you have the demo working?

I'd love to see Spec do a TR sequel - the first game was great. It's just a shame they listened to the fanbase; the gunfights of TR2 were really stale in comparison to the TR1 combat (agile, ranged warrior against fast, melee beasts for the most part). I can't believe what a pig's ear they made of the TR sequels. Each TR game was half as good as the previous one, with the possible exception of number 4.

He's a little smug, but that's his style. Oh, and then there's the fact that he's the best gaming writer out there.

I'd like to see TR return to its glorious roots, and maybe Spector is the man to get this done. That said, I'd also like to have Deus Ex 3 turn out superbly, because DX2 was lacklustre to say the least.

Snidely, what OS do you have? Thief 3 doesn't work on Win98 or ME, and that is probably what is causing your "corruption"

Has anyone been able to find all of the loot? I just beat the demo on Expert, and I looked everywhere, but all I could find was 90%.

...It doesn't work on ME? Crap. I missed that.

    Bugger.

I just don't like Kieron's style of writing. Iprefer Walker's style, but that might just be because he gets to review a lot of bad games. :/

Ah yes, it's always fun to read them lay into a pathetic game.
