Right now the UK is almost certanly heading in the direction of <a href='http://edition.cnn.com/2000/WORLD/europe/09/12/uk.reaction/' target='_blank'>2000's fuel protests</a> a day after he Conservitive leader said he would <a href='http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/3768805.stm' target='_blank'>suport</a> fuel protests if they were leagal.

Personaly I am not being directly affected by this rising petrol prices becuase , well I dont drive but my parents cars use <a href='http://www.lpga.co.uk/LPGA.htm' target='_blank'>LPG</a> in his car, this is now more than half the price of Unleaded petrol

I am fully in support of any group that wished to research new forms of fuel, remember oil wont last forever :/

fusion wont be ready by the time we need it after peak oil. but... biodiesel will be.
    <a href='http://science.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=04/05/25/1838201&mode=thread&tid=126&tid=134' target='_blank'>http://science.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid...tid=126&tid=134</a>

we can grow diesel fuel (the kind of gasoline that volkswagons and school busses drive on) in ponds of algae. we can use the same gas-station infrastructure, and only need to build a few new refineries/farms. it is even possible to brew biodiesel at home given the right ingredients.

i believe this is what nemesisZero was speaking of earlier in the thread.
