Cant Join A Game

<div class="IPBDescription">versian problems</div> hi, im new to this game and so far havent been able to play it, when i try to join a game it says something about different versian or protocall and doesnt let me join a game, it tells me to update the gamebut then it says im up to date and doesnt let me play, heres what i did.

installed ns_install_v20
installed ns_install_v3_b1 (the first beta thing)
installed ns_v30_b4_patch
installed ns_v30_b4a_patch

dont have a clue what i did wrong, i installed them to whatever it automaticly did it to. any help would be good, thx!

I think you missed the first 2 steps. Good luck.

1) Install Steam
2) Play HL atleast Once via Steam
3) Install NS V3.0 Beta 1
4) Install NS V3.0 Beta 4 (point this at steam\steamApps\your@email\Half-Life\)
5) Install NS V3.0 Beta 4a (See * at bottom)

Search your HDD for a folder called nsp.

if you have more than one you messed up. try again.

if you folow these steps properly you will not get client.dll or map.bsp errors.

If you are positive you have folowed them corectly then redownload the installer form a different location.

*There aslo seems to be a bug with, atleast some of, the 4a installers. Try pointing it at steamApps\your@email\ instead of steamApps\your@email\half-life

Note: This is a file stored on my desktop because I have to use it so many times.
