    Suspended? WTH, that's nuts. Count it as a days absense, yes, but suspension? that's insane.

    That's how to make you learn more you know, to keep you out of class more than you already are out of class....

    I'm glad I'm out of high school.

    Tardies... I haven't heard that since Back to the Future. Must be American then <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Tardy means late. He means that if you're late for school three times, you get suspended.

    I love my school now. You don't even get in trouble for ditching. I have ditched several classes and been tardy to... hundreds and not gotten trouble for it. All my school does is have the atendance computer call home and tell your parents that you were absent from one or more classes. Even then all I have to tell my mom is that the teacher screwed up <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Tardy means you're late. In this sense, late for class.

    So he was suspended from school for being late to class. Good way to keep kids in school eh?

    Wow. That's awful.

    If you get 40 tardies here, you get a detention. Bahaha. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Yeah Caboose my school does the exact same thing.

    Me: Oh look the Caller ID says "Jasper Place High School"... *pick up and hang up the phone*
    Parent: Who was that?
    Me: I dunno they hung up before I could answer <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Works every time. Oh and the fact that my first period english teach doesn't actually speak the language properly. I've seen better spelling and grammar on these forums, and that's saying something, considering how many words seem to be spelled with numbers and punctuation...

    At my school you get a "demerit" at 5 tardies for the class. Tardies restart every quarter and demerits are really just a slap on the wrists (if you get 4-5 demerits, I can't remember, you have to come in on a saturday morning for a few hours and pay $60 or something to do work around the school).

    It would have to depend on the situation. At a public school there are hundreds of reasons that a person could legitimately be late for class, same with any school where the students have to travel to school every morning for that matter. If your in a boarding school it would make alot more sence...

    They're talking about highschool or before that, not university (which is what I think you're thinking about (and if you aren't I think you're taking high school a bit too seriously)).

    Back at my old school, because of the asinine way they had the attendance policy set up, you'd be better off just not showing up if you were going to arrive late.

    At my school you have 3 tardies = one absence. Five absences = lc (loss of credit) where you have to continue taking the class but you are not recognized as having taken the class.

    One absence seems a bit harsh... I've skipped my spanish class 4 times already and they give a **** <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif' /><!--endemo--> My spanish teacher even knows that i go to eat lunch instead of attending her class. The teachers expect you to skip class atleast a couple times every semester.
