<div class="IPBDescription">must be lowered</div> Simple fix, and everyone knows about it:
Chat text displays at about the middle of the screen. This needs to stop, as big yellow letters obscure important events, like a fade rushing at you. Recode so that chat text appears at the normal place (ie just above the HUD health numbers).

I use 1024x768 and I think the chat isnt in the way
You could bind a button to hud_chattext 0 and 1 so you can switch it on and off
On a barely related note, the black bars that you get when spectating or dead block the 'normal' text chat entry areas. So that with various adminmod functions (like admin_chatmod or admin_saymode) you can't see what you're typing at all. Not exactly the devs job to be metamod compatible, but it is rather annoying, and this is the only mod that does that.
put in at the bottom or at top. NOT in middle !
perhaps this has to do with the alien energy bar? if you notice, the chat text starts at the top of the energy meter...
Reducing text time in a game based around team communication isn't really much of a fix TBH.
Yep.
Have a lookie <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=66818' target='_blank'>here</a>.
But still, when a LOT of talking is going on, the text is obstructing the view <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Better than nothing... combined with a low hud_saytext_time or whatever the command is, it is "ok".
I also "vote" to have the chat text moved down a bit <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
