Yes, again.
Yes, I know I rant about this game in every other post I make. And I know it's been discussed before. But there is no excuse for not owning this game. At 19.99 for all platforms (PC, Xbox, GC, and PS2), everyone should have reason to get at least one copy. I own two - one for GC and one for Xbox, having just finished the GC version and started the Xbox version.
Go to http://beyondgoodevil.com/us/. Watch the intro. Then on the main page, click the "watch the trailer" link.
It is seriously the best game I have ever played, but sadly as a result of being the victim of undermarketing in the shadow of Prince of Persia, it will probably never get the sequel it deserves. Hence why I strongly recommend buying it. Every person I know who has played it has loved it, and as time goes on more and more people talk of its greatness. Maybe if the sales numbers continue Ubi will get smart and let Ancel and co. go full force with a properly marketed BG&E2.
Come on, you all know you want another round of a sexy green-eyed lady who can kick some serious **** with a really big stick.

Comments
aren't they the same on all platforms, or are you just looking for a challenge(damn XBOX controller gets me every time)
Also, I'm working on a contract job involving a PC game with somewhat similar mechanics, so I will probably snag the PC version as well - much of it is for reference material. Though if I get a PS2 and own 3 of the 4 versions, I'll probably shell out for that one, too, to complete the collection - I do collect games as much as I play them.
Yes, feel free to punch me randomly for a while.
Maybe I'll get the GC version.
The last boss, however, is a travesty. Learning movement patterns by heart at insane speeds, especially when playing on the keyboard, can only be described as 'frustrating'. At the end, I simply wiped it off my HD, which is, all things considered, a real pity.
Ahhh greaaat. I haven't had a video game story really click for me in a while. Especially not one that was happy in some way shape or form.
Maybe I'd better steer a little back, then. BG&E somehow manages to combine cartooney elements - one of the main personae dramatis is a talking pig - with Gigeresque scare. It works surprisingly well, but if you want a throughoutly 'happy' game, you might be wrong.

OH no, that's not to say I don't like storylines of other natures. I just like good storylines in general anyway. Still sounds interesting though. Perhaps you could give me a good example of giger-esque scare, I might be able to fit this into context?
Nem, I PMed you about your troubles with the final boss.

12-13 hours? That's not really short I guess, same time it took me to beat SS2 the first time through.
You can get (if you've already played through the game before and know the places) all the pearls and animals and finish the game in under 6 hours... Short, but sweet.
There were a few areas I also went back to where I realized I had forgotten things - I had planned to take the time to get all pearls and animals, but then decided I might as well just go ahead and get going on the Beluga. Not a spoiler since I'm so vague .
Oh and what a surprise the moon fighter battle was... Wow... Like I was playing the X-Wing and all those space-sims again... That battle is awesome and I spent much time shooting down the baddies, having Double H tell me to land all the time... But it's so much fun!
I actually don't mind it. I had the demo and loved it. I'd have played through the xbox version if the game would save without crashing.
There should be, but there likely won't be due to poor initial sales. I just hope the word of mouth sales (spawned by discussions like this) will be enough to show there's demand for this game and for a sequel. It's a damn shame, Ancel and team created a hell of a universe and I'd love to see an extension of it. I mean, I love this game. Now imagine if they got a sequel and trumped it! Oooooh...
@gent: does he not like it, then? I don't know if I've talked to him much about it.
moultano: it's a third person platformer, but I think on the PC version you can customize the controls. Nem apparently has some sluggishness on his, but that sounds to be the old keyboard rather than the game
For any of you curious about it, there is actually a PC demo that would be a great thing for you to try, even if you are thinking about the console versions. Should be a great intro to the world and style of the game.
lol, me too: comparing the price to the movie theater is ALWAYS how I rationalize my purchase of video games.
I highly doubt it, I'm sorry to say

Concerning the question of PC versions controls: As KFS hinted at, I've had a few *cough* bad experiences with it, but that's at least partly the fault of my equipment. If you do however have the choice, I guess it's always best to try to play such games on the console.
Not at all.
Well, KFS, you've persuaded me. I don't often purchase games on word of mouth alone, but considering the price and the praise, I think it's worth a go
I'll have to take the GC version, but this means Viewtiful Joe and Eternal Darkness (another seriously underrated game) are going uncompleted
