Chambers take longer to build
Res income is about 1/4 as fast no matter what
Fade health lower
Marines armor is higher
Onos health is lower
Lerk health is lower
Bad lerk flight model
More jetpack fuel
Faster Jetpacks
It seemed very balanced to me, the marines won 5 games the aliens won 6. I was having lots of fun on both sides. Here are some things from 2.0 I liked:
Easier to control blink
Onos didn't die as fast
Marines litterally lost when there were 2 or 3 Onos
Fade Blink was about 3 times as fast
Lerk Spikes !!!!
(oh, by the way there are still like 20 servers running 2.0 if you didn't know)
Devour time much shorter
75/20 health for skulks
Faster skulks right at the beggining
Lerk requires more skill, but can live longer
Never died if you had redemption
Faster jetpacks that could fly about twice as far
Less HA and less JP because it costed 25 res to drop one
Lerk Spikes !!!!
Hive 3 = marines lose
Carapace Onos actually ment something
Longer Stomp time
Hive 3 wasn't seen as often
HA rushes = death
Slower res income for both sides
Spit stronger
Nobody laughed when someone got a healspray kill (it must happen a lot, I laughed at it).
It was very fun, but lerk flight model really, really sucked.
One thing, though, how come sometimes I could only use my hive 0 attack when I had 1, 2 or 3 hives up? It would stay locked on hive 0 attacks no matter what (unless I went fade, it started me on metabolize, which used energy).

and sometimes u cant kill a lone marine when u are a fade because he hits u alot and his bullets are very strong, so u start getting in panic and cant hit him, then u die or u run and sees he laught
ah, the lerk spikes! they used to be so good, now u have to use that damn lerk bite which cant kill even a light marine (only if u bite like 4 times and dont die before that)
ahhh... I miss the old 2.01...
Yes redemption was actually useful then (Probably a little too effective at times) but it was a heap better than what it is now.

No, the difference is not that simple. Armor points in 2.0 were worth 2 health points, but the percentage of received damage that was absorbed by armor was much lower. In 2.0, you generally died with armor remaining unless you received healing.

Marine weapon damage values in 3.0 beta 4a are for the most part the same as they were in 2.01. The only damage value that was changed was that of the welder (it now does far less damage).
The dissapointment with 3.0b is that the aliens have been slapped with the nerf stick about 500 times! They have 2 long range projectiles (not countin bile) spit and acid rocket, how the f--- can u call that a rocket? 25 damage for a third hive ability is a joke, 75 was spot on. Spikes were good coz they were fast and silent, anyone really use primal scream? Get rid of it and have like bite - spikes - umbra - spores again, that combo worked well.
I dont agree with the flight model tho, this new one, flight + focus + silence/celerity = dead marine. At least the old one took some semblance of skill to use.

3.0 managed to fix that with only the loss of lerk spike. Because of that, I believe most of the adjustments were justified.
btw, you probably knew that the hitbox bug was fixed in 3.0. This is the main cause of the stronger onos/fade.
Fie, Fiddle and Tosh. Easy-to-use = good. Great credit to Max for programming a neat and intuitive WASD control system. Just because something is difficult to use, doesn't mean that it should be kept simply to a few people happy.

Also, Every time I have played 2.0 I can't switch weapons (very very annoying, no blink-swipe fades, only metabolize...), I get kicked, my health doesn't change when I change lifeforms, it will say I am dead when im not... If anyone can please help me with this, I would appreciate it (because I love 2.0).
I downloaded the game twice, I installed it over 10 times, and it happened about 20-25 minutes in to the game every time...
2.1 i could fade in a pinch and towards the end i could even hit ha (though a very dangerous thing to try). also saw many more "ok" fades.
3.0 half the time i cannt even kill one marien. the new blink wants to send me to the roof and if you try to blink along the ground you skip along with your screen bounceing all the while. you endup stuck alot because you cannt round corners well do to the blink constenly trying to put you in the air (no friction + low controle = death). also now the only fades that seem useful are the people that were "l33t" with them before 3.0.
nearly all games on the server i play the mariens win because noone can fade effectively...
it is getting rather sad
the poor little gorge...
2.1 if ambushed by one marien you had a chance to kill that marien (more armor)
3.0 if ambushed by one marien its bye bye gorge. if they hear you/you hear them your only course is to run (which is also a problem because the mariens are faster).
and ask your self this; if the gorge is not to engage in combat then why does it still have bio bomb? how it is to be the hive 2 base wreaker with no armor to speak of.
the saveing grace is the new leark
2.1 poor flight made it an easy target. but you had spikes so you could keep your distence
3.0 great flight so now its much harder to hit. no spikes but the much wanted bite.
now king of the hit and run replaceing fades but its poor health means it could never replace the fade of old.
skulks
2.1 im not good with them so about a 1/1 kill death ratio.
3.0 they seem weaker dispite the smaller hit box and im still not that good with them. so im getting a 1/2 kill death ratio.
onos mooooo
2.1 crapy hit box = near invisable onos
3.0 fixed hit box, health/armor boost. not as powerful but still a killer. id say where it took 3 onos before it now takes 4. meh not a big deal as the game is already over (ty l33t fades for not going mariens).
as you can see its not all bad. the main problem is the early game for the kharaa is desperet. with only oc's to offer any semiperment deffence to the rts and the lastest and greatest tactic of "go spawn camp their hive" (which forces us to build ocs in the hive early game)...
there is simply not enough rez to do what needs to be done (rt's, chambers, second hive, fade/s) and have adequate deffence (as the mariens do).
all together it makes the game somewhat one sided.
(no flames please. im not knocken NS. im just tellin it the way i see it. please feel free to offer your opinions).
Anyway most changes have been said, but as far has i can see, 3.0 is much more newbie enhanced to gain popularity.
Sorry to say this but, if a marine can kill a fade in 3.0 one on one with lmg, the fade is really pathetic.
Gorge now officially sucks, but was tooo good in 2.0 in hands of evil(MOUHAHAHAHA)
Fade rocket was too much...50 damage would be fine.
I hate new base speed or skulk, i mean no bhop, leap or celerity its horrible.
Lerk is way better now but i loooved spikes on stupid HA's...
3.0 = more teamplay required but friendly with low skilled intelligent players

Actually lerk bite rules......I don't know what your deal is but ONLY as a bite lerk can I find myself with scores like 72-19. They're so fast and accurate, and then if you get focus, it's all over -_- Maybe you should practice a bit.
