<div class="IPBDescription">res supresion</div> I've only been in game once but I've seen a com of ours regularly rule a 3v3 or 4v4 game with this tactic. I don't think he wants it to go public because its a 'bit cheap' but the games about winning right? I'd rather it was overused and got nerfed than kept for a few know-it-all pubbers. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> If it spoils the game for many players then something will most likely be done - or the aliens will come back with a counter.
The basics are simple although there are probably some fine points.
1. Listen for the hive
2. Send your marines the other way to grab a few rt's
3. Drop rt's on the nodes the gorges are most likely to visit
4. Continue to send your marines around getting nodes,
5. As soon as a node is eaten be ready to drop another rt on it. It seems like a stupid waste of res but the aliens really need to build RT's. This blocks them
6. As the res flows in get start electrifying those towers, get upgrades and especially phases to allow fast travel. Put the phases by ERT's obviously.
If you do this right and ensure that the aliens build no extra resource towers they wont be able to go fade until its too late. Move for the two hive lockdown quickly.
OK now dont tell me why this tactic wont work right away. I've seen it from the alien perspective and the marines res flow was baffling. Go try it next time you find yourself in a small game and then let me know what your experiences were.
Might be refreshing to see.

I have little idea what you are trying to say and I'm not sure you do either.. please lay off the drugs.
Can't argue with that tactic Eagle <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo--> (this is Tiger^ btw)
Nice post and thx for offering the tactic. I'll try it out some time.
Also, don't electrify. Even when keeping 6 player teams on one node constantly, any amount of RFK can get them Fades in 6-7 minutes - considering how costly it is, and how much time it takes to maintain the nodeblocking already, you need all the tech you can get as fast as you can. Preferrably AA then JPs - but all the other basics work just as well (A1, Phasetech) to keep you in the game once the Fades come out.
And the tactic is useless if there are enough skulks around (you'll bleed res like crazy), so it stops being useful once the game size starts to be fair again (6v6-8v8).
I normally dont bother with small games, so I hadn't seen it until a few weeks before this post.
Yes, it wins, but No, i really didn't think winning was what it's all about on ntfm servers, but i guess i was wrong.
I could just imagine a game where no one wanted to win <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->
'Im not playing to win, come kill our hive'
'no im just here to have fun, you can come rape our MS'
