Bringing Down The Console

Okay, stupidly while in controls and setting up some customs. I set one function to activate when i press `

As you all know the ` key brings down the console. I reset the defaults, looked for the console function in the menus and couldn't find anything. Short of reinstalling the damn game, how do I bring bind ` to bring down the console again?

-Quit NS
-Do the bind in the config.cfg
(should be here:Steam/steamapps/yourname@youremail/half-life/nsp/)
-Restart ns

Command should be

bind "`" "+console"

(plz correct me if its wrong.. its been a while and i cant check right now)

Hmmmm, doesn't the "~" key bring the console "down" aswell?

yeah well that is the part i dont remember...

i think in cs it was the ~ sign, but then cs expects an american keyboard which i simply dont have
which means i dont have ~ where you have it. I have the ^ on that place (above tab) <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->. so i have to find the appr. key (i dont right now, so i copied the ~ from your post)

I have a keyboard here (workin place) that has both things marked and ... behold..
` & ~ and ^ and ? are on the same key. ? & ^ are the europeen key i can use, the rest i cant.

PS: just found the ~
its on "alt_Gr +" (Alt_gr & the key left of enter and below backspace <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo--> )

Go into your NS folder

and check the following:

Make sure you have this in your config
<!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->bind "~" "toggleconsole"
bind "`" "toggleconsole"<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

If something else is binded to those then delete it and replace with these!

Thanks a bunch for all your help, but shortly after I posted this thread I found out how to fix it and spent the rest of the night playing NS.

By the way I had edited the multiplayer controls, which are seperate from the single player controls. So resetting the defaults does actually do the trick.

Sorry if it was an inconvienance.
