    Japanese Street Fighter has the ninja guy as Bison and the Shadolou kingpin as Vega, while Western (or at least the UK) has it the other way around.

    It was the whole Mike Bison thing. Capcom didn't want to cause any friction with Mike Tyson (read: lawsuits) or some such crap. I don't remember the details.
