    hmmm

depending on the BT client/torrent you might need to use a different port.

curentl alot of ISPs are messing with P2P ports

try telling your client to use port 50000 (or 50000-50010 if you are ussing an older client) and just open up those ports.

Also, what errors are you getting?

BT should work regardless of poorts being open or not (you simply will not upload, thus will get horrible downloads)

get emule plus, works like bt but has a better ui and is harder to cheat

also, upload "scores" are calculated by peers instead of the server so it's almost impossible to cheat (unless you serve up bas blocks, but that will get you banned pretty fast)

oh, it also cuts files up into blocks so you can preview files, you don't have to preallocate disk space and whenever you download a block it checks it against the server's has of it so if a part breaks you don't have to re-download the whole thing

    just to let you know:

BT downloads things in blocks (use a better client if you want to manage them)

BT does hash checking on every piece (you can NOT download a corupt file)

You can't "cheat" at BT. If you have a low up speed, your down speed is choaked down.

If you are a leech, then people start IP banning you.

And the UI for BT is perfectly fine (there are about 3 or 4 main BT proggies, so you have a choice)

There are no "errors" as such , the torrents on abc just _wont_ turn green and go at like 1kbs constantly , it was absolutely fine before we set the dam router up ¬_¬

you can cheat at bt by telling your client to report that you are uploading faster than you actually are, the only problem is you need a custom client

that and emule works better through firewalls

    ok, stays yellow?
    but you are connection....

    shut down the torrent.

Change the port range you are ussing.

    start it back up....

It looks like you have ther router set up properly (I use linksys so I am ussed to fowarding them to specific addys....)

    good luck.

I dont think changing the port range would work , cause them i would just have to do the same as i did before and try to open those other ports but to no avail :/

Also, it seems that ZoneAlarm5 doesn't like BT for some reason (it locks up my computer) so that might be a problem, too.

Declare your computer DMZ, it should open all ports for the specified IP.

Make sure you restart the router every time you change any of the settings. I'm assuming someone didn't already tell you that, as I'm too lazy to read the whole thread.

    Putting it in a DMZ didnt work either <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    This might help.

I'm using a different router to you but you get the idea.

192.168.1.36 is my internal IP. The other one is my gf's.

My best guess would be to change the trigger port to another port somewhere in the range. I'm assuming that when it detects activity on that port it allows traffic on the rest.

This is what I have, and it works. (ignore the other two, just use the one labeled BitTorrent.)
