Multiple Endings To Deus Ex. Your Choice?

SPOILERS WITHIN! BEWARE! YARR!
I MEAN IT. SPOILERS AHEAD. THIS POST WILL RUIN THE GAME FOR YOU IF YOU READ IT. SERIOUSLY....

My first choice was the mind-meld with the AI. I then went though and beat the other two. I much preffered the ending to the AI one though. If I ever write some AI software I'm gonna nickname it Shodan or Daedalus. ^_^

I didn't feel like replaying it because the last level was stupid, so I turned on cheats ( last level only) and played all three endings.

The secret ending was stupid. I don't even remember how to get it again. Not worth the effort of typing, though.

I just saved it before the "point-of-no-return" story-wise, although I have to say my intial choice, and the choice I stand by, was with Tracer Tong. Medieval all the way, baby.

I also saved before the point of no return to see the main 3 endings, but like Scythe I first went with Helios. I never bothered to see the secret ending, though I hear Deus Ex 2 has a secret ending as well.

I'm still trying to stay as far away as possible from any Deus Ex 2 spoilers because my GeForce2 is keeping me from trying even the demo. To get an idea of how serious I am about going into the game with no outside info, consider this: when I got the DX2 soundtrack from the website, I considered the mere track titles to be horrendous spoilers about locales visited in-game.

Wait, there were more than just the 4 endings?

    Omar
    Illuminate
    Templar
    Dentons

In Deus Ex 1, I chose the JC/Helios ending, and in Invisible War I chose the Illuminati ending because, as Saman puts it, "Universal biomodification... doesn't exactly roll of the tongue, does it?"

For both games the point of no return is less than 10 mins from the finish of the game, I did all endings I could find in both games.

I told you it was awesome, but did you believe me? nooooo you had to go on about System Shock 2 being better or some blashphemy like that.

Anyways, I, like pretty much everybody else, did all of them. I was equally satisfied by the Illuminati and Helios endings. I made sure to kill Tracer Tong in DX:IW for trying to get me to make a new "dark age". hippy.

The secret ending is just a bunch of women dancing in some club while the camera goes WHOOOSH over and over.

The "secret" 5th ending was when you killed all the faction leaders and just walked away, allowing the world to go on without all the meddling.

I enjoyed Deus Ex 2, It wasn't a bad game, but I was terribly disappointed. It was pretty obvious that they just didn't put as much work into it as they did for the first game.

And just a note to some of you, the so called secret ending in the first game was more like a whimsical cheat. If you activated the unreal console and entered the command "legend" a nifty menu came up. If you chose to load the 4th ending map it was basically a Deus Ex dance party with all of the chick models in the game.

The quotes were much more fun to watch IMO.

Neg. That's the Omar ending, the secret ending can be found by picking up the flag where you enter the UNATCO building, dropping it in Manderley's bathroom, and flushing the toilet. It's basically all the major characters dancing around in club vox with a bunch of datacubes with quotes floating around. Much better than DX1's secret ending.

If any of you are worried about DXIW but haven't played it yet, take comfort in this: There are those who say that it is a horrible game, some who even say that Daikatana is better. These people are stupid, ignore them. It's not as good as the original, but then again, what is?

The game itself and the plot was pretty good, I just didnt like how they completly got rid of skills and streamlined boimods.

I havn't bothered to finish Deus Ex, cause I got really mad that I couldn't Stay with UNATCO, or side with the woman in China, It was like, I HAVE to go to Tracer Tong and work for him. Also, once I continued and got out of sneaking into that building.. I forget the names since its been a bit since I played, wherever has all the people, and factory (in China it is) .. I ended up reformating.. and Didnt wanna do all the missions to get there again.

Pft, Deus Ex secret ending owned with a bit of inventiveness.

    > open 99_Endgame4

    > spawnmass lam 20

Oh, and like everybody else, I went with Helios.

No, it isn't as good as the original. Sadly, it is nowhere near as good. Oversimplification is the main problem.

Yes, I enjoyed playing it, but it is a meer shadow compared to its former DX1 self. Oh, what might have been.

You know, in the June issue of the Official Xbox Magazine they said Deus Ex 3 was going to have more of a focus on action.

Remember that episode of Chapelle's Show where he said he was from a long line of dissenters?

    "Man, Spector is f***in' up!"

All I have to say about DX3 pessimism is this: Spector had little influence in DX:IW. The result was a good, though lukewarm, game. Spector had big influence in Thief 3. Out came a game that recieved praise from every single person I know who played it. Spector is going to take big influence in DX3.
Also, Spector is known to be highly interested in non-violent gameplay. So here's to hoping.

As for DX1, my personal best game ever, I went with the New Dark Age. Why? Easy: Ever played Fallout?

I went with Helios as well - but I was really impressed with the options. Never quite run into a game where ALL the endings sucked in one way or another.....
