Infantry portal

Been reading for quite a while, but this is my first post. Did a search and couldnt find any info on this. From the screen shots i have gathered that you must wait a certain ammount of time before you can spawn. I also know that you respawn at the infantry portal. So I guess i have two questions: (1) how long is does it take to respawn, and is this a server option. and (2) does building a second infantry portal allow marines to spawn twice as fast?
If the second is true, is it worth it? As in, is the respawn time really long and the infantry gate is cheap enough that this is a good idea? Wow, that was a lot of questions... thanks for the help in advance

Casual: Instant Respawn (pt,dev?)
Resources remain the same in both modes
Tournament: Respawn based on commander's choice and available team resources (i.e. If the commander sees fit he uses resources on something besides your respawn, he can do it.)
And to answer your 2nd question I don't believe that a 2nd infantry portal would allow faster respawn. Not sure you can build 2, probably a waste of resources.
IE: Spawn in #1, step in #1 got to #2 and so on and so forth.
Or i could be wrong...
IE- you can not spawn in till all the marines that have died before you have spawned.
so, in big games, yes it is a must that you have more than one spawn portal.
It is also good to have more than one for the sake of survival. You do not want your lone spawn portal destroyed and no one realize it till no one but commander is alive?
A tactic I have seen in game btw is to have 2-3 spawn portals and a telepad right by it. The marines spawn and immediately port to the action, not even bothering to get more ammo as they wont live that long.
This zerg tactic gets them to the action faster than the aliens can, and I have seen it be quite successful.,
o For every 'dead' player they get suffled into line(s) based on the number of infantry portals.
o There is a small wait time before you are respawned.
o There is no resource cost in Casual Mode
x There is a resource cost in Tournament Mode (but this wont be put in until another version due to lack of playtesting in it)
o Phase gates allow for teleporation (of both teams) across map
Hey, what's <b>that</b> supposed to mean?

Good thing all those mirrors are lined up <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->
(very good preperation by dev team. I like that.)
1 IP/hive: you wait 40 seconds (each marine in front of you waits 10 seconds, then spawns, then you wait 10 seconds to spawn)
2 IP/hive: you wait 20 seconds as the first 2 people to die will spawn at the same time (on 2 diff portals/hives) and then you will be 2nd in one of those lines.
Hope that clears it up <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
