In this thread check both pages and you will see he has used the NS.wad and HA arms for his Sven Coop map. Just thought I would alert you.

    I dont think him using the HA arms is wrong, but using the NS textures (unless he asked) is wrong

    Nonetheless, using official NS content outside NS-related projects without of written permission is explicitely forbidden (check the FAQ on the frontpage). I sent him a message. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

    As you can see, I already notified him about using NS textures was bad.

    Also, if you guys feel like bringing Sven Coop down a bit more, rumour has it that Mr.Franswa is using the Onos model for his RE2 map...

    'We guys' don't feel like bringing any other mod down any bit, and if coordinated before the release of the project, there's little harm in using our models (see the bumpercar mod). Charlie would merely like to keep control of what is in effect his property.

    If you actually read the thread, you'll find that his screenshots and captions are far more amusing - this stolen textures thing is just the tip of the iceberg.

    Ok, so he thinks that if he simply doesn't post on the forums we'll forget him and the problem will go away. He HAS stolen NS textures and now he's denying it like a good newbie mapper. Someone smack him please.

    Legally, it was wrong and the criminal could face 10-15 in a federal state prison for copyright infringements.

    Personally, I think you're taking it too bad. No harm was done. All credit was made known. It's like stating your sources in a paper. You didn't ask for permission to use the source, but who gives a crap if you give credit to the source.

    That's my two cents.

    Nobody talks about jail time, but it's a part of authorship to be able to have a say in how your work is being used. Charlie, who's owner of the copyrights, wants to be asked before people start using his intellectual property in their work. I for mine can understand this.

    I know if I sweated for 4+ years on a project, hired voice talent, art talent and stuff, I'd at least like to be asked if someone was going to use it in a project they were doing. Even if neither of us is making money off said projects.
