i got my friend to download ns today and the wb bots. but when he tried to host, he said it wouldn't give him the option to change the name, put a pass, and so on. i guess it was cut off above "game type". he tried reinstalling, but no luck. sorry i cant be more descriptive, but i haven't seen the problem first hand, only from what he's told me. any ideas what's wrong?
Also...
i think he said he tried to join a server, and it said the maps or client.dll or something was different. i know you should be able to fix that by playing half life through steam at least once, but i think he may have. and if not, will he have to install ns over again? he was already tired of messing with it after one or two tries, so i dunno if he will... :/
and if this means anything, he was playing it fine (i couldn't see it though...) by himself while waiting for me to try to join.
