Too bad... that guy is not a very good director. I mean, he would be great for Max Payne or GTA or something like that, but Metroid and Rainbow Six? You gotta be kiddin' me.

With the sole exception being Face/Off (which pwns) John Woo hasn't made a good movie since he came over to the states. :/

Tommy: Have you seen any of his old stuff? he had plot, he had decent actors (like acting wise) and he had the best fight sceens ever.

I have to love him for Hard Boiled, The Killer et al, but as Doom said, he just doesn't gel well with the Western influence (Face/Off aside).

though the only 3 I can think of atm ar face off (that I loved) broken arrow (that sucked) and MI2 (that sucked)

Hooray we get to see shootouts in an embassy between Counter Terrorists with funny last names and Terrorists who make the same grunting sound when they die. Except, the terrorists will run on walls, have bullet time, and be able to magically wield dual MP5s... (yes John Woo had all that stuff in his movies)

I can see it now... a slaughter house...with a sign out front that reads:
Original Ideas Killed this year: OFF DA CHARTS, DAWG... *bruns self for the street talk*

As for those who say Face/Off is the only decent movie Woo made since coming to America, i'd just like to point out that MI:2 and Paycheck were both good movies.

Meh. I'll save judgment on this until it releases. I'm a fan of John Woo, the RS games, and Tom Clancy's fiction, so I don't really know what to say. The original novel has plenty of great characters and more than enough plot for a movie, so I doubt Woo would even think of going to the games for content. I can only hope he realizes that the greatest strength of the Rainbow Six name is the dedication to realism that it represents.

Tom Clancy is an awesome writer. I love a lot of John Woos movies... but he should stay away from Rainbow Six... Hell Rainbow Six should have stayed a book/book series.



Of course my opinion doesn't matter.
